    Controlling the air flow through the engine by varying valve lift would allow the throttle valve to be eliminated.

    The problem is that costs are extremely high when "industrialise" this systems, that is why they use it only on the intake valves and not on all 4 valves.
    Fiat presented a prototipe this year in Barcelona called "Sportiva Evoluta" with a v8 Maserati with UNIAIR with 440hp.
    Dont know when this is coming to Ferrari but i think that you can see the first engine with UNIAIR around the next year end on the Alfa Romeo 149. All the engines on the Alfa 159 are prepared to adopt the uniair (in the future).
