    who did tried the single mass fly wheel on 996t ?

    hi,
    im going to order a single mass fly wheel for my turbo-S ... how is it in low speed ? does it makes a big differnece in the performance of the 1st and 2nd gear ?

    i realy enjoying the zero acceleration .. its one of my best hobies , for that i'm asking about the fly wheel .. check the attached file , the gallardo driver didnt sleep at that nigh ..

    I had it on my Boxster and it does make a difference yes ... but you need to keep in mind that it brings along a quite annoying rattle when the engine is warm (at idle).

    thanx alot ,

    do you advise me to have one ? .. i hear about starting from zero , some one told me its not easy as the normal one .. is that right ?

    I can't say that it's harder to start from zero no.

    I had one on my 996TT, I bought it from RS-Tunning. They got it from porsche motorsports. It was from a GT3RS(the real race car, not the street version). I could not tell the difference in performance, although its significantly lighter(5-10kg dont remember). It is very noisy at idle, however if you push the clutch in at idle the noise goes away.

    i fitted the 996GT3RS Lightweight clutch to my turbo and its fantastic! The engine is much more responsive and everything spins up much quicker, however, the down side is that the conversion makes the transmission very noisy when out of gear at idle, as soon as in gear the noise stops. Its all to do with the weighting on the original clutch...

    Anyway, for what its worth I'm really glad I changed mine...

    Strictly speaking, it's not the clutch which is lighter on the RS, but the flywheel. The heavier, so called, dual-mass flywheel used, among others, in manual transmission 911s was specifically developed to eliminate transmission idle "chatter", so it shouldn't come as a surprise that throwing out the dual-mass flywheel results in noise.

    If you don't care much about noises, GET it, it is worth it, especially on the Turbo. But be prepared that a lot of people around you (at the fuel station, friends, on the golf club parking lot, etc.) will always ask you what is wrong with your car.

    I would simply reply: "Oh, nothing is wrong with her, she just doesn't like to sit around and idle, she's always got to be moving fast!"

    thanx ! .. all of your comments was perfect .. i bought it from 9ff .. the acceleration was completely different .. is seems like you got 100hp .. i have another solution for the noise , just turn off the air compressor , the noise will be reduced 80% ... but the big problem is when you`re going to race with some body , when he asked you what is your cars modification ... at this moment , you should pray that he will not hear the noise .. then you say " nothing " ... .. but its a must .. and when you hear the noise you feels like you are on a carrera GT . thanx alot guys for your replies .

    How about a sound clip? I really want to see if it sounds anywhere near a Carrera GT

    hehehe .. there is misunderstanding .. the internal noise of the flywheel .. is similar to carrera GT .. my brother who drove the carrera GT told me its exactly what he heared inside the CGT .
