    997-S cab cabin temperature

    While driving with top down, I have noticed when the engine is hot and outside temp is cool there is hot air coming in to the cabin and the cabin temp is much Warmer compared to outside temperature. The hot air comes in generally from around the hand brake and other areas which I have not been able to track down due to safety while driving. My test is to put your hand out the window and check the difference between outside temp and inside the cabin. I smell a design flaw and was wondering if anybody else has noticed the same issue.

    I have noticed the same temperature difference with the top up or down. Even when driving at night with the outside temp in the 60s and low 70s I have the air conditioning on to combat the increased temp difference. I'm not sure where it is coming from either good question for the pros or AG. I wonder if 997 non S cabs and those with coupes are experiencing the same thing?

    i haven't noticed anything like that with my cab, well not warm enough to make it notice-able. so i can't say that i've had that problem?

    I've had something like that. I believe the temperature comes from underneath the back seats. It is especially warmer near the middle section of the seats (where the seat belt plugs are).

    What would the color of your interior have anything to do with engine heat coming into the cabin ?

    For the record I haven't noticed anything like this and I have black interior.

    that's weird... have it checked your baby maybe getting a fever or something...

    So far nothing funky about my car... except the rims [lol]

    Cabriolet (metropole blue/dark grey interior). The temperature doesn't bother me though - it's good for the UK winter

    I think you will find that this is heat radiated from the floor panel of the car, as the floor is "airtight" in the areas concerned. The steel floor pressing will be heated by the coolant pipes running from the rear-mounted engine to the front radiators.

    You cannot compare outside air temperature sensed by holding your hand in the airstream as you described anyway, due to the windchill factor.

    It sure is a bugger. Typical temperature around my area at this time of the rear is around 95 degrees and add the heath from the engine and we are talking in the 100's in the cabin. I dont care for driving with air conditioning on. Should be fixed.
