    second nail in tyre in 2months!!!!!!! what to do????!!

    cant believe my luck
    had a flat several weeks ago. now another one

    thought I heard something when turning in a carpark.
    got outta my car, my left front has a small nail/pin in it.

    its one of those pins we use on cork boards to pin papers and stuff....

    not impressed!!! should I leave pin in tyre for now?????since I HAVE to drive it tonite and tomorrow morning.

    Oh no!

    Is one of those pins long enough to penetrate the tread?

    You could always install an electromagnet just infront of each wheel.... or get some run-flats from a Mini...

    At least you are reducing the odds of you getting ANOTHER puncture!

    Get a "tire-pilot"...or that's what it's called here in DK.
    You can't do anything about bad luck, so all you can do is keep a can of tire-repair-foam in the trunk. Some people say it is bad for the tire, but I haven't had problems in the past.

    I would never drive a repaired tire, at speeds above 80 km/h I would only drive it to the nearest tire shop and have it replaced!

    Argh I feel your pain Derder. I narrowly escaped a probable second puncture yesterday after spotting what looked like a broken glass bottle on the street a bit late.

    If you need to drive it tonight and tomorrow, can't you go to an emergency tire shop and just get it plugged real quick so you're mobile over the weekend? Then go in to your usual store or OPC and get the replacement done on Monday?

    just checked my tyre again, its not leaking pressure at all.

    can only make it next week to repair the tyre....

    and guys.

    *** whats wrong with repairing a small puncture like that???***

    cos I just paid AUD 800+ for my rear tyre, i would be p*sssed if i need to fork out another 800 bucks... I dont hv money pouring outta my ar**s.
    tho it would be nice...

    I had a tiny puncture on one of my Mazda MX5 tires once and got it plugged - No problems at all (same thing - small pin and no pressure loss). My last Boxey puncture wasn't minor though.. the tire was completely flat, so I didn't want to mess with it and got it replaced.

    You could try plugging and see how it holds up.

    Personally, I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to tire status and replace when I can. I see the point about costs though.. I'm still wincing when I think of my last replacement bill.

    just got it fixed.... for free!!!

    took it to a Porsche recommended tyre place. same place i got my replc last time.

    they plugged the nail out.... and it was a full 0.5cm long!

    LOL
    ha! didnt even piece thru the inner rubber. so they balanced the wheel and didnt charge me at all!!


    happy ending.
