Ya, they really don't bother me that much anymore....not the best aspect of the car, but the rest of it is looking so darn good they are pretty easy to get past.....at least for me.

The Hyundai also has wheels and a windshield. Wish Cayman didn't have those!
I'm being a smart a$$, but I think they look good, so I'm not particularly concerned that there is some resemblance to other cars. Adds some interest versus Boxster, though I guess that is a bit hypocritical to my previous point. I think the fogs look better on the non-silver cars, like yellow. Looks sharp against the black space around them.

Discerning between Artic and GT silver is not easily done in photos. I've seen the two next to each other and the major difference is rather a tinting effect with the GT less "white" or reflective than Artic. Porsche's determination of what constitutes a "special" color as opposed to standard or "metallic" is either totally capricious or utterly cynical since you are paying either $0, $800 or $3000 for the same color depending on the model year offered.

Porsche color pricing is pretty wacked out IMO and definitely has nothing to do with the paint itself. Dark Olive on a Cayman is $3k, but $500 on a Cayenne!
Local dealer had two Boxsters right next to each other one Artic, one GT. Brought the wife and a couple of friends to see them both....never told anyone about the price diff, just asked them which one they liked best. The overwelming choice (4-0) was Artic. I like GT Silver and think its a great color.....but not a $3K color by any means.

Those pics are stunning, as is the color.
I was also able to compare GT Silver with Arctic on 997s while visiting the dealer in Munich. The consensus of the dozen or so people there was that Arctic was brighter but GT had more depth and character and was hands-down the better color for a 997.
It has lots to do with the lighting and the particular model of car it is on. GT is amazing on the 997 and Cayman too. For some reason, Arctic seems much better on a Boxster.
Is there enough difference to justify the cost? Absolutely not. Is GT Silver on my September-build 997? Absolutely.
