Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

maybe they are testing the rear bumper of the TT on that GT3.... this bumper does lokk very finished unlike the ones on the first spy shots ( in winter) where one can clearly see that they used a C2 bumper and just cut a piece off in the middle for the exaust... On the new spy pic ( white car with black bumper) one can see that the bumper has benn made for a central exaust....oh...so, it can't be for the TT... GT3 Cab maybe????

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

    Guys..

I came back two hours ago from the Nurburgring..

Friday i had a talk with Walter Rohrl and he tell me that the 997 GT3 will have around 400/405 HP,the engine is 3.8 dry sump and there will be a special suspension system, like PASM to increase the hardness of the suspension,NO DSG/PDK
The RS will come an year later, but not sure if with a power increase, more likely only less heavy...

this is all what he said.....he is really a good man...really kind and drives also fast...

    Ciaoo
I find also a Cayenne restyling test car..i try to make some pics but it was not so easy, they try to run away when recognize my car ...tomorrow i post something..

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

Darius, did you guys happen to discuss the 997Turbo by any chance? Particularly, whether or not it'll have DSG? (So many conflicting reports lol)

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

yes Darius!! whats the news on the 997TT???

    Thanks, Darius!

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

    Not GT3 S but the GT3 4!

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

Guys..no words on the 997 Turbo..he only said that the new turbo is faster than a F 430...
I ask him if is better a 997 TT or a 997 GT3,and he tell me that for track use the GT3 will be a beast..for road use the Turbo..is the top,and both car will be really fast!!

About the PDK/DSG he said is planned for the introduction in 2007...not before...

He said also 997 Gt3 introduction March 2006..

He talk with us like an old friend...good boy!

The cup cars don't have this!

    Thanks for the info though.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

Sounds cool, but based on the 997S engine or on the old 964 engine block? Dry sump could also be added to the 3.8S engine, isn't it.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

No DSG in 2006? Damn.. or did he mean MY2007 cars

By the way, your friend looks like a young version of Steve Buscemi

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

    Very cool info Darius grazie

Everyone I know that has met Rohrl has said the same thing, what a cool & friendly down-to-earth guy he is.

    So in coclusion:

    - 3.8l but not 997S derived, its a dry sump for the GT3 as expected, I asume derived form the 3.6l of it predecesor 996GT3.

    - 997TT faster than the F430, wouldn't be anyother way

    - no DSG/PDK standard on GT3, at least on first year. This is good news for the manual drivers since the DSG/PDK looks like an option only.

    - RS version of the GT3 will be produced

    - I curious about the GT3's special suspension though. He said you can adjust harshness "like the PASM" but I suspect it will not be the PASM electronic active suspension type since that would hinder the GT3's performance. I believe he may be talking about a coilover system were you can adjust the harshness (along with height) but they are a traditional shock/spring but manually adjustable (not on-the-fly with a button like the PASM though) which is very appropiate for track cars.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

I was there with Darius and I had a quick chat with Mr. Rorhl! For what I understood, Walter told that the new GT3 will have a system symilar to the one described by Carlos...it will make much more sense that a system "à la" PASM!

A little photo of me and Mr. Rorhl in front of the queen of the weekend...

    Cheers,
    Max T.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

    Great information Max and Darius!

    Thanks!

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

    Danny..He said PDK in 2007 not before...i don't know if is MY2007 or 2007 as MY 2008?!?!?!
And for the "looks like Buscemi" friend...we can said that is more friend of Sergini than me.. HAHAHAHAH

Carlos..i think you focused the point..in fact Walter said is similar to PASM to tell us that is adjustable from inside the car..but with a different technical solutions

Max try to teach something to Walter..but was not so easy.. Mr.Rohrl know well the Nordschleife

Thanks, Max! That would be great if the shocks had user-adjustable knobs for valving (I hope both compression and rebound). So, then the GT3 would have adjustable swaybars, ride height, firmness, and rear wing. It's sounding like the most tunable trackcar yet made for the street by Porsche

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

Max & Darius - Did you hear anything about PSM for the GT3? Rumors were indicating that it would be included, but I still have my doubts that it can work with the aggressive LSD on the GT cars...

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

Grant..Walter tell me and Sergini that PSM is not sure..he think yes becouse a "normal" user prefer this option but he can't tell now,if is or not on the car..

    I hope yes..

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

    Thanks again!

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

@Darius: I was at the ring too yesterday.
The weather kinda killed the fun a little in the morning but in the afternoon it was great!!!!
It was my first time, but I'm afraid it won't be my last time!
Are you the guys from cinghialoni.org? Because I saw a (beautiful) crashed Elise with the cinghialoni sticker, and I think I remembered you guys (MaxT, Sergini...) had something to do with that.
Anyway I hope it wasn't your Elise because it looked pretty bad.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

    This one

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

    Hi Porker..

I came home yesterday morning..under the rain for 800km..not so good..

Yes..the Elise is of an italian guy from cinghialoni, friend of MaxT...i don't know whats happened, but the ring and the rain is not a good thing..

    ciaoo

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

Yes...unfortunately was one of our group!

This one was his first trackday with that Elise (powered by an Honda engine with 230Hp and a 6 speed gearbox)...

He made a mistake at the Fuchsrore (not the best part of the track for this kind of accidents...) and that's the result! Only body damages, with a new front shell the car will be like new.

He was closely followed by a Bmw M3 (E46); the driver, maybe scared for his accident, lost control of his car and had a very bad crash few meters after...

With wich car you were at the Ring yesterday?

    Cheers,
    Max T.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

And I think I've heard this RS before on Maxige.com (Love the sound)
    Is that possible?

I was there with a Race specced-Civic (blue)
I figured it wouldn't be a good idea to have my first Ring experience in the rain in a RWD car, that's why....
    It was amazing!!!!
Black 997 w/stickers also a car of your group?

i will be back soon, hope to meet you guys then!

    Yes it is Sergini...

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

Very good choice Porker, for the first time it was the best thing to do!

The withe/red RS is my brother's car! He was with us during this trip!

The stickered 997S was Sergini's car, another member of Rennteam!

Hope to see you there next time, I think that we will go back at the beginning of October!

    Cheers,
    Max T.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

    Here's Sergini's car then

That would be very cool since there would be less need to buy double or triple adjustable motons since the car might come with shocks that are just as good.
