Windscreen washer jets no longer work.... any ideas?

I recently had the windscreen replaced on my 997 because of a stone chip. Despite my worries, this went very well. However, the windscreen washer jets have stopped working and it must be something to do with the change of windscreen, but I cannot think what.

Anyone any ideas how to fix this? There is plenty of water in the reservoir and the wipers wipe the screen, it's just as if the connection with the water has been broken.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Ed

Can you hear the motor? If so I bet the nozzles are clogged. A pin shoved in each one, or a thin wire usually breaks up the logjamb of dust and dirt that plugs them. If that doesn't work and the motor can be heard there's fluid being pumped somewhere inside the car? Find where the nozzles or hoses were disconnected. If the motor/pump cant be heard maybe yank the fuse and then replace it???? Panel is by your left ankle.

    Hi Ed,

I am having exactly the same problem and my car is with the dealer today to solve this and another issue.

As a matter of fact, my windscreen was replaced too due to the impact of a stone chip, and since then I got no satellite reception on the sat/nav system anymore and no washer jets anymore. I guess they forgot to put something in place.

I will let you know if I got more details on the cause of the problem.

Re: Windscreen washer jets no longer work.... any ideas?

Thanks guys for the replies - interesting that Nico, you have had the same problem. The weird thing is that I can smell the washer fluid coming through the air vents, but there's no water. I don't think the holes are blocked or that there is any leakage as I couldn't see any. I am still waiting for a call from the repair company but they do not seem in any hurry. Look forward to hearing how you get on, Nico.

    Ed,

Again, that's exactly the same symptoms I have. I too can smell the lemon of the water fluid. It is certainly the same problem and I will let you know as soon as I got the car back.

Re: Windscreen washer jets no longer work.... any ideas?

    Ed,

Just got a call from the dealer. The problem has been solved but was not linked to the windscreen change. Indeed, this was due a little hose behind the wheel that was disconnected (sorry for the bad English) for some unknown reason. They just had to put the hose in place and make sure it was not going to be displaced once again.

Re: Windscreen washer jets no longer work.... any ideas?

Thanks Nico for the feedback. Seems very odd that both you and I had a windscreen change and then the same problem with the washers... I guess a call to the dealer is in order... Thanks again.

Re: Windscreen washer jets no longer work.... any ideas?

    Hmmm, I should check mine.

Re: Windscreen washer jets no longer work.... any ideas?

    Nope. Everything works just fine.
