    Hydralic sound when open door of a 360?

    I hear a hydralic sound when I open the door of a 360 (I assume the same for other Ferraris too), does the car actually lowers a bit? It happened at a dealership, so at first I thought I triggered the alarm

    It's not an oil pump or similar is it? Same thing seemed to happen on my little VW, was a bit disconcerting at first, but the car was 'prepping' itself ready to be started...

    Are you sure it wasn't the power window lowering itself a bit (makes closing the door easier without the airtight seal)?

    No, it's really a hydralic sound, not the typical window auto-roll down an inch sound

    If the car is an F1 (tranny), it's the sound of the pump priming itself before you start driving it.

    Nope. Not the same with mine. I was told the door operates by a cable. The only thing that I could think of was already metioned - the lowering of the window.

    It's the fuel pump priming, common on many cars. 1-2 second humming/buzzing sound?

    Hydraulic pump for the gearbox, no? The Vanquish, which uses a similar Magnetti-Mirelli system, also makes the sound. The M3 SMG does as well, AFAIK.

    That's correct. You only get that hydraulic sound at cars with F1 tranny.

    Yeah, that car has a F1 tranny. Ok, now I understand. When I was at the dealership, I didn't want to seem ignorant, so I pretend I knew about it. Better to ask you guys than the sales guy

    Nope. Not that I noticed. I do have the F1 but it's a 360 Challenge Stradale. When I get home tonight I'll double check.
