    Some new GT3 spy pics

Hope these haven't already been posted.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

I think I've seen them before; I remember the bug splattered bumper

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

    Thats a nice rear

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

wow! the rear bumpers look cool with the exhaust in the middle.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

looks like it's going to be the best Porsche yet.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

So everyone likes this but hates the the 997 Aerokit?

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

looks like it has the wider rear .

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

It looks like this is very, very close to an acomplished car.
Looks great ! Love the front and the back

Queer, isn't it?? Perhaps it looks better in action!

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

The exhaust looks better than the PSE, which always looks like it wasn't put on straight to me.

    It's a Boxster!

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

I saw the aerokit in the flesh at my dealer the other day and it looked really good - I'd hated it up to that point. The 911 seems to be one of those cars which is really hard to photgraph well. It always looks better in real life.

It does. The wider (44mm) cars have a small ledge on the rear bumper where the rear lights are recessed because the bumper is wider.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

Wow, good eyes, Stradale. Which body style is the GT3Cup? I would like the GT3 to be as close as possible to the Cup in all respects.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

I think its that bumper with camo, if you look at the other GT3 spy pics without any camo, there is no such recession of the rear lights.

I dunno Carlos. I think it might be the other way around. Would they use a rear quarter panel and rear bumper off a 44 mm wider car to camo the GT3 ? Only a guess but I think the GT3 has the 44MM rear.

Are there any other GT3 pics showing the rear closely that we could look at ?

btw: When I GOOGLED "997 GT3" and hit "images" on the second page I saw a pic of what looked like your 996 4.

    Sure enough,how cool is this:

it is my ex-996C4, good eye stradale!

I wrote that comparison of the 997 vs 996 in that site (actually I wrote it for the spanish Porsche forum and they asked to use it in their site)

You may be right, its hard to tell from the pics. But this are two different GT3 without camo were you can clearly see the rear and they don't have that recessed rear lights

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

    2nd

Very cool indeed about the article you wrote.

You're right about the lights in that pic. Hmmmmm ????????

Maybe they have been experimenting with both body styles ?
Guess we wont know for sure until info on the car is released.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

On the 2nd one - To me it looks like there could be camo covering up the bumper/rear quarter panel line and perhaps the ridge by the lights for the 44mm cars.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

The bodies may be different in these pictures because you guys never realized that Porsche may offer GT3 and GT3 S did you?

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

But found the same car as you posted (license plate) that clearly shows the body panel lines without camo. So maybe it doesn't have camo ?

    Don't torture us.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

This thread just goes to show how subtle the widebody ( + 44mm ) is on the 997 series vs the 996 ( + 60 mm ) . One has to look for " the recess " around the rear light cluster to tell in pics . Hopefully for us Turbo waiters it will look " wide " in person , but I doubt it due to the smaller difference now.
The cost cutters at PAG decided to use the same " small " rear light clusters on the 997 C4S/Turbo as the narrow C2/C2S. The larger light units on the 996 C4S/Turbo were another distinguishing feature .

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

    Plus the rumored 4-door GT3.

Re: Some new GT3 spy pics

I think it would look better with some badasss Techart 20''s ... but again I do not think we have the perfect wheels from Porsche yet I can only hope they get the right wheels when the 997TT comes out
