    Thought about sharing these old pics

    These are old pictures that were taken in September '03 during my visit to Leipzig. Our group was lucky enough to witness the completion of Carrera GT no. 0001. This particular car was heading to Porsche's museum in Stuttgart. When asked about the method of transporting the car to Stuttgart, the guy looked at me in amazement and said "It will be driven of course, thats why we build them". I have to say I felt kind of embarrassed for asking. For a minute I thought I was at Ferrari.

    Those are some great pics, I especially like the last one.
    That must have been an unforgettable trip.

    Seeing car #1 being built must have been a great experiance for you guys. You are right, we've also been told that this car is reserved for the Porsche Museum.

    I've 'met' #1 in June 04 during a visit in Weissach.

    Its a bit strange and confusing. As per the VIN, my car is no. 186!! However, the number on the middle console says 0005!! Considering my car's production date is April '05 I find both numbers to be on the low side.

    When productions started back in Sept '03 customers were given the option to choose their own numbers (from 0002-1500) engraved on the console. However, this caused PAG some headache and a mess and they put a stop to it. Therefore, the number on the console does not really reflects the actual serial production number.

    Ron,

    Do you mean there are 911 CGTs in Ohio?

    I think he means that your's might've been #911 in the United States not just in Ohio...

    btw if I was to "request" a number it definately would've been 0980

    As CarreraGtRacer mentioned in the U.S.. I meant the geographical regions; of course that's just a thought .
