So what are the REAL numbers for CT acceleration?

I see them all over the board - 4.6 seconds up to 5.9 seconds. That's a pretty broad range. Porsche is typically conservative with their figures, and I believe they say 5.2 or 5.1, so on their averages that would be probably 4.9 seconds if that is accurate. Anyone have some accurate figures?

Re: So what are the REAL numbers for CT acceleration?

I'm assuming you need either 0-60 mph or 0-100 kph, but I'm not sure which. Porsche specs are 5.2 s and 5.6 s respectively for those performance measurements. Those are conservative figures and independent tests are generally better, depending on who's doing the testing.

Re: So what are the REAL numbers for CT acceleration?

take into consideration the options fitted to the car, for example, panoramic sunroof it will make the car weigh a considerable amount more etc. which will influence the 0-100 times

Re: So what are the REAL numbers for CT acceleration?

Apparently the facelifted CT will be lighter, that combined with the powerkit could really produce some impressive times.

The facelifted Cayenne Turbo will be lighter?

yeh, that's what I've gathered from the omniscient RC, light(er)weight matierals alledgedly. Hopefully, RC can enlighten us futher.

Re: So what are the REAL numbers for CT acceleration?

There have been rumors floating around for a while now that we will see a lighter Cayenne.
The current Turbo's curb weight is about 5200 lbs. I think, so it wouldn't hurt to shed a few pounds.
This would really help its performance and hopefully give it a competitive edge against the competition.

Hmmmm what competition ? the CT blows all stock SUVs out there. Future competition perhaps

Re: So what are the REAL numbers for CT acceleration?

Has anyone tried lightening up their CT? The 911 owners do it frequently, even Boxster owners. It would be harder to do it to the Cayenne because most of the substantial weight is electronics/suspension/drivetrain, etc. Lightweight wheels might help a bit, and staying away from those 22's

    Good point.
Seriously, there really isn't anything I can think of either right now that could seriously compete against the Cayenne.
However, with the new ML63 and Audi Q7 on the horizon, things might heat up a little. I'm sure Porsche has what it takes to raise the bar again.
