    Older 4 door Porsche drawings

    Very interesting find at the US Patent Office
    A 4 door Porsche, very similar to the newer Panamera sketches

    It seems this is the cancelled 989 project, which lent it's styling cues to the 996 generation. And now it has the change to be reborn

    If you combine this plans with the released Panamera sketches, i believe you'll get a very good ideea how the Panamera is going to look

    Yeah, but it was a 1991 design, long before the 996

    Interesting. Styling cues are somewhat between 928 and 996. This is too staid for current tastes.

    Wasn't that original design rear-engined? That would make for interesting handling in a sedan

    Wow - never seen that photo before. Looks like a 1972 model - only year where the oil is filled through a little door on the side of the car. Fear of people putting fuel there by mistake made them return the oil filler to the engine compartment in 1973. The fuel is filled through a door in the left front fender like all 911's...

    Some one in the US has possession of the '66 factory prototype 4dr 911, its in the same color as Mikes CGT.

    If you want to see something frightening, search around for the prototype pic of the Porsche mini van they and Nissan jointly developed in the late eighties.

    It was so bizarre that both sides pulled out of the deal.

    Found an old chassis from 1972 for sale. This is the model where the oil is bring filled from a hole in front of the rearwheel. This one os for sale....if anybody has time to such a project.

    I remember seeing a photo of it somewhere. Good thing they were smart enough not to build it. Anyone who thinks the Cayenne is a little strange should definitely look it up because your opinion will probably change very quickly.
