    Maybach sports car... I forget the name.

    Is it me or does this car look terrible? I know it's a prototype... but the front grill and the low slung look and the chrome make it look like they went and got an American pimps version of a luxury car. Looks rather like the batmobile to me.

    Most manufacturers use camouflage to hide the real appearance of their prototypes during testing, and only remove it when the cars are shown to the public.

    With this one, they would have add camouflage for the public roll-out!

    Its ridiculous... its got a twin-turbo V12 making 700HP on a 5 meters long (16.4feet) & 2660Kg (5850lbs) platform!
    Reportedly, the car hit 351km/h at Nardo which is outstanding, not for the abomination of the car but for the tires... 351km/h on a 2660Kg car, thats amazing for the tires.

    Maycbach will not build this car, its a one and only specimen

    There is an article on this...this...car in the latest issue of CAR magazine - the issue with the Cayman on the cover.

    Looks like an old steam train IMO

    It's supposed to be styled after the 1938 Maybach. It's called the Exelero. Did any of you read that a middle eastern sheik offered GM $10 million for the Cadillac 16 prototype? That probably sets a record for the highest price ever turned down. At least that car was pretty.

    Someone paid $3.2 million at auction for a 1954 Oldsmobile concept car in January. Hard to put a price on a one of a kind auto.

    I thought exactly the same thing when I saw it.
    If they wanted to create something something with attitude and presence, they succeeded.
    I'm glad they won't build it though. I would expect something a little more tasteful.

    It's supposed to have been styled after a 1938 or 1939 Maybach. Reminds me of the Batmobile.

    As Carlos says this car is a one-off. It was ordered by, and buildt for, German tyre manufacturer Fulda to do high speed testing of tyres for heavyweight cars (Bugatti Veyron anyone) now that more and more "porky" cars are approaching 300 km/h.

    It's a relief to know that we won't be confronted by that car when out on the road.
