    I post this question in 3 Forums (Rennlist, RennTem and 6Speedonline) and No One has gotten the 06. my car was build on 6/24 so it's been 40 days and counting.

    July 30 and August 2nd, that was the approx ETA for the Freedom Ace in San Diego which has a load of 2006 997/Ss. They said they would put them on trucks ASAP; "minimal dwell time." This is what my dealer told me a while ago. This means you should be getting word anyday on the ETA of your car on the West Coast dealerships.

    I heard a different story that a pack of the West coast cars landed in Baltimore and are being trained across the US. This allows Porsche to invoice the dealers on the West Coast faster.

    I've got my VIN and my car (06 997s) was finished in the middle of July

    My 2005 was built 6/13, and I've had it in the Bay Area for nearly 3 weeks now. Your 6/24 built machine should be here quite soon. I'm assuming you've tracked your ship to San Diego, etc?

    Latest update, car has been in San Diego since Monday. And how long does it take to truck it to my dealer (Newport)? Couple days, one week, maybe longer, My dealer have no idea.

    Ps. Yes my car was trained across from east cost to west cost.

    It should be done during the same day. It's only 2 hours between San Diego and Newport. Mine was transported to Circle Porsche in Long Beach from San Diego. The time consuming part is the inspection at the port. That can take up to a week to 10 days.

    My car arrived in San Diego port Saturday morning - My bay area dealer had it Thursday at noon, and I picked it up thrusday evening.
    7 miles on the odo.....it was basically a virgin!

    My "S" (VIN 417) was built 7/7 and arrived in Brunswick, Georgia Wednesday of last week. It cleared port and is on a truck to the SF Bay Area via San Diego. ETA Monday- Wednesday next week.

    My sales rep just called and my 06 "S" will arrive San Diego Monday next week and be up in the Bay Area by the middle or end of the week.

    My toys are only getting more expensive, but what the heck...

    Gary what dealer did you purchase yours from?

    Rector Motor Car in Burlingame. Is yours coming by Ship or truck? My rep wasn't certain on the delivery date when I talked to him on Tuesday.

    Gary, my car was shipped to Baltimore MD, then put on a train to San Diego, it will be prepped in SD and then trucked up here to Carlsen Porsche. I got a call today that it should be here by the end of next week.

    A good friend just bought a GT and he is headed to Germany for the pickup....

    997CS arrived today at the dealer and will be ready for pickup tomorrow, dealer was willing to prep the car and stay open late if I wanted to pick it up.

    Where do you go to find the ship tracking info. The dealer told me my S cab should be arriving in San Diego on the 16th...and then a week from then to get the car.

    Mine was VIn # 417 built July 7 and I got it Thursday afternoon I have been grinning ear to ear since. Just came back from a run up Old La Honda Road and down Skyline. Un frikin' believable. I have been driving sports cars since 1974 (this is my 4th Porsche), this car rocks! Hit the sport button and the suspension button and you have what must feel like a race car. I hit the sport button at the corner near my office in the financial district (SF) engaging PSE and blip the throttle, everyone looks. What fun. Can't wait to drive again in the morning.

    Picked up my 997CS yesterday with 6.5 miles on it and have also not stopped grinning, best driving experience I have ever had. Car tracks like motorcycle, but can be driven smoothly through town with whole family. Did not get PSE and I'm happy cause it's pleanty loud.

    Thanks guys, 65 miles on it so far, had to check myself as i had all for seats occupied and hit 105mph on 280 north. Shifting between 4-5200rpms for break in still gives you plenty of kick.

    The suggested break in procedure is impossible. Hit 6,000 a couple of time today during a 100+ car run to Half Moon Bay. I'm at 280 Mi., more tomorrow. I am gging to try a pic. post
