    Re: Lamborghini Huracan and variants

Show me a Huracan anywhere near 1422kg when it's actually ready to best tested.

10% difference in weight, 100% difference in tq, 40% difference in power. The weight isn't light enough to negate the power, now will the suspension set-up be aggressive enough.

Sport Auto did weight the 918 and the Huracan:

    918 (Weissach Package): 1642 kg

Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 (fully loaded): 1564 kg

The Huracan is still 78 kg lighter than the 918 with Weissach package. Add the 40 kg weight saving (Performante) and the difference is 118 kg.

Also, the Performante gets very likely rear axle steering (which does wonders, we all know that, look at the 991 Turbo S) and a highly improved chassis. Also add 30 hp more to the mix.

Not going to cut it. Probably 40 extra HP and 0 extra tq. Aero on it will be tiny as usual as well.

Let me see: At least 100 kg less than the 918, 640 hp, improved aero and very likely changed gearing (I doubt that the extra power will make this car faster, maybe 330 kph instead of the current 325 kph), rear axle steering, new chassis, improved Trofeo R tire setup (current Trofeo R are having serious issues with the ABS setup of the Huracan), maybe even active aerodynamics?

I'll believe it when I see it. Lamborghini showed that 6:59 video with the SV as well. Still waiting to see the SV come out on top of any test.

Yeah, that SV mystery is...a mystery to me as well. Smiley Fantastic car but even the guys at Sport Auto reviewing it were quite surprised that Lamborghini communicated the wrong tire pressures and that they had to kind of "find" them on their own. Sometimes it is a mystery what press departments are doing at VW Group. Look at that R8 Sport Auto reviewed, the car had much less power than claimed (usually test cars have much more power, look at the latest AMG GT S review in Sport Auto). Rumors at that time indicated that VW Group wants to keep a certain performance hierarchy within their brands but this sounds ridiculous. Smiley

    Re: Lamborghini Huracan and variants

For a Huracan to beat the 918, it will have to corner much hard to have any advantage.

When I got on the track with a Viper with R888s, he will leave me in the dust in the corners, but once the straights come, before braking for the next corner, I will already be on his ass and had to lift to avoid rear ending him. And I wasn't even close to doing 1G turns.

I am quite a bit faster in lap times in the GT4 ClubSport simply because of the much higher cornering grip, 1+G every turn. And that's only my personal limit, not the tires.

Is the Huracan too heavy for its size? Perhaps it is too complex and with lots of equipment...

    Re: Lamborghini Huracan and variants

Considering the platform Audi uses for the Huracan and R8, I am very surprised that both cars are so heavy.

When I asked why the Huracan is 94(!) kg lighter than the R8 V10 Plus, it was quite difficult to get the right answer. Apparently the extra dampening material, the leather and the B&O sound system make 50-60 kg vs. the Huracan.

I think that with the right choice of materials, both...the Huracan and the R8...could have been 50 kg lighter, maybe even more if Audi would have used a different base structure and more lightweight parts. The front hood feels quite heavy, the doors feel heavy as well but this is why the car feels like a rock...rock solid.

Let's see how the next platform is doing...the Porsche platform for the next gen 911 and Huracan (and maybe R8).

also because GT4CS is much cheaper and you do not mind pushing it to its limit Smiley

    that too

One of my friend just wrecked his ClubSport, crashed into a wall at Thermal, around 5-7k damage only.

Beauty of using standard production car parts.

Full cage + Harness + HANS vs. a street car too.

There is already a video from salomondrin about the accident. Pretty cool that Carter allowed him to post the vid.
