Agreed the 3 becomes more hideous boy racer every update, truly uglySmiley...... although the little gt4 with its giant wing not much better.  I wonder if PORSCHEn could ever deliver an integrated design with disgusting wings?

No. Not getting that one. I am enjoying the 4RS for the moment.

    Re: GT4RS

I would like to buy tools to remove the wheels because I want to ceramic seal them. Instead of buying a breaker bar and a torque wrench (e.g. this HAZET), the idea came to me to buy a torque multiplier (e.g. this GEDORE), because I already have a torque wrench up to 200 Nm. Does that make sense, or is it too imprecise? According to Porsche, the wheels may be tightened with a tolerance of 5%.

    Re: GT4RS

My car has reached the port of Houston, but I leave for vacation on Saturday… There’s a tiny chance I’ll get to see it before I leave. I did sign all the paperwork yesterday so my SA and dealer could close it in Q4 23 rather than next year. And yes, everything was at MSRP with no BS. Amazing really…

One of the problems with a torque multiplier is most are not strong enough to resist the very high loosening torque that is sometimes required (around 1,400 Nm or more at the wheel).  So even companies that sell fancy multiplier tools like this one:

    https://renntorq-llc.square.site/product/renntorq-center-lock-tool-v2/2

You still need to use a big breaker bar when exceeding about 200Nm at the torque wrench in order not to break the multiplier.

And then there are very expensive electric tools that also cannot loosen the center bolt sometimes:

    https://www.obsessedgarage.com/products/hytorc-center-lock-torque-gun?_pos=1&_sid=a06626cf9&_ss=r

So, even if you spend big money it really helps to have a huge breaker bar as well.  Sort of a problem without a simple solution (I use a huge 1.6 meter breaker bar and torque wrench with a helper in the car holding the brake pedal and steering wheel).

    https://www.amazon.com/Drive-Torque-Wrench-Breaker-Combo/dp/B00HDPJF38/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=precision+instruments+600+ft-lbs+torque+wrench+and+breaker+bar&qid=1703179795&sr=8-2&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.17d9e15d-4e43-4581-b373-0e5c1a776d5d

And I add an extender adaptor to make the breaker bar longer:

    https://www.toolsource.com/adapters-interchangeable-heads-c-315_803/34-in-dr-adapter-bar-for-c4d600f-c4d400f-p-110329.html

I weight 100kg and I sometimes had to put all of my weight on the 1.6m bar to get it to break loose with my 991.2 GT.  My 992 has been easier (the center bolt is somewhat different)

Thank you for your help Grant, much appreciated. wink

I didn't know that loosening the nut would require that much torque. I agree that a torque multiplier doesn't make much sense then. I will stick to my first plan and buy a breaker bar and a torque wrench instead. The precision instruments setup you're mentioning isn't being sold in Europe I think.

I weigh 75 kg and the Hazet torque wrench is only 1.280 m... I dread my first wheel change 😱

Yes, it doesn't always take so much loosening force.  The new Centerlock Version III seems better (used on the 992 GT3/RS as well as GT4 RS), so maybe not as much of a problem.  But I still think having a big breaker bar is a good idea.

If you keep everything well lubricated you should be good. Smiley

    Re: GT4RS

What size do you have in your operating manual for the central locking removal nut? In mine (which is in French), it says that it is 1 inch, but in reality, it is 3/4 inch.

GT3 USA manual had the same error.  The socket that comes with the car definitely accepts 3/4” square.

    Re: GT4RS

Funny thing, I initially ordered a 3/4" torque wrench because of all the YouTube videos I had watched, but when I read the manual, I canceled the order and wanted to order a 1" (they are really hard to find for "only" 600 Nm). Fortunately, I went to the Ring, where I have my car garaged, and checked it myself. Now, I'm ordering a 3/4" again. 😂

I don’t know what goes on with the softwear. Before Christmas I was unable to post photos using my iPhone.
i just tried now on the Test thread and it worked. I wonder if it is not related to location ? Or to some WiFi networks ?

I can upload the image to RT, but can’t post it. Android, same thing. Sorry..l
