Great video. Obviously the 918 is going to win with so much more power on a long distance like that, but man, that 675LT is quick.

Grant:vantagesc:I never understood these electric bikes. I suppose they allow you to get some exercise without showing up to work drenched in your own sweat due to hills or long distances. But the cost of them is 2-3x a basic scooter. Some of them are 8k Euro which is the same as a decent motorcycle. Cool idea, but not ready for the masses yet.
Riding on the bike path to work is the big attraction - no stop lights (goes right under the road for busy intersections) and the route is diagonal from home - shorter distance than driving and much faster at rush hour. Motorized vehicles are not allowed (including scooters, mopeds, and motorcycles). But e-bikes are allowed...

Agree, nice video. Surprised with Huracan result against 570 and the 675 was the big surprise.

Whoopsy:Don't underestimate the 675LT, it is basically a P1 stripped of the hybrid components.
EVO Mag does a twin test of both this month, worth a read I'd say!

the SV did surprisingly well despite being slower on the draw and having the aero vs the f12.

If I tell that my wife she would start packing the bags
We have a good friend, which just recently moved from our German hometown to Denver. She loves it and encourages us a lot. So - you never now. I will let you know when we are there
Whoopsy:McLaren just has a insanely good TC program, miles ahead of Ferrari, but they are the exception, everyone else is not even close to AWD cars.
True but at 10°C and tire temperatures under 30°C, even the best TC can't help...as we experienced yesterday in a R8 vs 570S "meet" (my jeweler got himself a 570S, same color as in the video btw. and it looks really good in real life). Even with AWD I had issues and that McLaren had PZero Corsa tires, bad...

noone1:The LT looks like it launches nearly as hard as the SV to be honest.
Modern TC is really negating the benefit of AWD these days unless you have just an insane amount of torque.
Only if asphalt/tire temperature are high enough.
We had 10°C yesterday, roads were a bit wet and tire temperature was always under 30°C. Even with AWD I had minor issues (mostly first gear...) and the 570s TC did much worse (car had Corsa tires though).

Still...the 918 in the video "destroyed" the 675LT, not even a close call.

The 675LT is really a rocket.
Yesterday it was driven properly on our track, as in go for it mode.
Clocked a 2:11, new track record. Granted it was driven by a current GT3 Cup pro who is also very experienced driving McLaren.
I will need to get the 918 back there and have someone clock a faster lap to regain the record.

Excellent - I'll be waiting

675LT is an excellent track car and feels a lot like a race car as Futch already pointed out but a rocket? I don't know, judging from the video the 918 really destroyed the 675LT straight line and this was quite a surprise (I thought it would be a closer call).
I agree on one thing though: If I were to look for a weekend toy car and I wouldn't be that amazed with AWD cars, the 675LT would be my primary choice, probably the 650S as well.

The "960" is coming...but not before the new Porsche sportscar platform can be used for the R8 or at least the Huracan as well. So I think 2020 is a good guess.
