    Next UK meet

    After a little bit of scouting, we're thinking of going for one of two possible scenic driving routes, each starting at about 11am and lasting through the afternoon:

    1. Starting near Reading and venturing into the Chilterns, probably to/via the "Crown" pub in Penn. Or...

    2. Starting near Gatwick and venturing into Ashdown Forest and Sussex, finding a nice pub in the southern forest region.

    Possible dates:
    Sat, Jul 30
    Sun, Jul 31
    Sat, Aug 6
    Sun, Aug 7

    Who's in for it and what's your availability for these dates? Do you have a route preference? Would you want/need accommodations near the starting point?

    Probably! Either weekend will probably be OK, perhaps the later Sunday in preference.

    Either date should be OK with us - mind I've just come back from Yorkshire to find I've been sent to the ship reapir equivalent of the Russian Front - Birkenhead. Needless to say, not with the Boxster as I would like to keep its wheels firmly attached.

    Welcome aboard! How about setting the stage for August 7, Sunday, through Sussex...

    More details to follow after this or next weekend (depending on when we get to do a second scouting tour).

    Who else can we interest in walking his/her car through the English Southeast?

    That weekend should be fine for me too! Couldn't have done July 30/31 anyway.

    Just finished running in so will be a good chance to stretch its legs so to speak

    I do you hope you folks are going to have one after the 1st of October (in our Indian summer we are doubtless going to have) when I pick up my car. Would be a shame to miss out on all the fun......

    I live in Surrey, so the south east, sussex direction would be easy for me.

    Let's meet near Guildford on Sun Aug 7. I know I suggested 11am before, but here is the million dollar question: How early could you reliably make it there (any car counts Dreamcar.. you got the Porsche bug that's all you need)?

    Last weekend when we were scouting we arrived there before 7am, and it was godly driving . Realistically though, I'm thinking to start latest by 11am and ideally earlier, depending on what's possible for all of you. Thinking the earliest start time to offer would be 9am.
