    Newbie need help (part II)

    Will I did it. Order placed, deposit check left. Order is as follows:
    Boxster S (Atlas Grey)
    Full Leather (Black)
    Sport Seats
    Bose with Windstop
    Park Assist
    Sport Chrono Plus
    PCM
    Bi-Xenons
    Sport Steering Wheel

    Okay and here is where I need help. I missed the September build slot by 3 hours. Some gal came into the dealer this morning and beat me to it. So now I have to wait until October. That means I won't be seeing my car until probably late November. Because of ramp-up for Cayman production, dealers are only getting 1 "S" per month for a while. Any suggestions on how to survive my 4-5 month wait.

    One good thing I managed to get the dealer to give me $5,100 off MSRP. After a very poor start Rector, and my salesperson Jennifer, really redeemed themselves.

    Oh and would somebody please tell me I'm not nuts for spending this much money on a car.

    If I remember correctly, this was your first Porsche, right?
    You're afraid you're nuts? Hehe. Trust me. The moment you get that car you will understand exactly why you spent $$$ on a car.
    Your specs are brilliant IMO and you will never spend a minute thinking about the loan or $$$. You'll probably be wondering why u didnt do this sooner.
    If I were you, I'd push really har don the dealer.
    Missed the slot by 3 hours??? Come on. That sounds like absolute BS to me.
    This aint a bus youre buying a ticket for...this is a hi-end sportscar.


    Congrats again, and nope...no suggestions on what to do with yourself the next months.
    There are helpful asylums around...

    Yes, first Porsche. As for the dealer giving me BS, I don't think so in this case. I was told by several different dealers that the first few months of '06 "S" production would be limited to one per month because of Cayman ramp-up. I was offered the September slot last week, but was still trying to finalize my spec. Also the dealer that got my business is trying to make very nice with me. The first couple times I went by this dealer I had less than positive experiences. I sent them quite the letter. One of the staff responded and was quite apologetic. Offered to bring demos to my house, stated if I bought from them she would pick-up my car for service at my house and drop off a loaner, and gave me a discount of over $5k off MSRP. They worked to hard to get my business back, I don't think they'd take the chance. I'll just have to endure the extra month.

    And I still questioning my sanity on spending this much money. But my sanity has been questioned before.

    Nice discount. Look at the bright side, you'll have one of the first 06 cars and it doesn't snow in San Fran!

    Too late, my troub on Guk made 50 before I ordered my car in March. Picking it up this Saturday though so I don't notice so much now.

    If it's any consolation, what you're spending on a 987 in the US is what a regular family in Denmark spends on a fairly good family car, like an Audi A6 2.0,. Volvo V50 or Golf Gti Ah, yes. Taxes. You gotta lov'em!

    Your purchase just proves you're anything but nuts

    I like the spec - was your dealer that backed up with Boxster orders that you missed the Sep. build?

    Oh and to pass your time - pick up some models at hot clubs, have fun, then go home and play Halo 2

    Pick up models...that does have a nice ring to it.
    No back up at the dealer. The dealers around here are being limited to one "S" order per month at the start of the '06 model year. This is because most of the intial '06 production will be Cayman's to build inventory.
