Just got back from my dealer and he tells me that a Turbo S model will be available to order from January. All he knows right now is that the HP will kick in at a hefty 520...
The rumors of a Cayenne Turbo S are coming and going, coming and going, coming...
It may be true because the facelift is expected for the MY 2007 (summer 2006).
Now the big question is: will the Turbo S already have the optical changes of the facelift or not?
The engine should be the M48.50S engine, the same used for the powerkit Cayenne.
So here's another interesting question: will it be possible to add the extra 20 HP to the powerkit Cayenne Turbo?
But maybe I should I should trust the source which indicated that most Cayenne Turbo have "way over" 450 HP from the start, usually in the 460-470 HP range. And the powerkit versions usually have over 500 HP, up to 520. So the real question is: does the Turbo S get more boost or other mods or is it just a "re-certified" powerkit engine?!
We also heard that a possible Turbo S has a slightly lower chassis with slightly limited off-road capabilities.
No matter IF the Turbo S is coming and HOW this car will perform, one thing is for sure: expect BIG BUCKS for this little baby. I'd say at least 5000 Euro/USD over the current Turbo Powerkit price tag. Minimum.
