A Porsche by any other name....
Quite a bit of discussion about the name given to 987/120 aka Cayman aka Boxster "coupe". Just to clarify, since as we all know the derivation of the name Boxster is Boxer engine plus Roadster, to call the Cayman a Boxster Coupe is in effect an oxymoron (Roadster Coupe) such as the well worn "girlie man". Since only Porschephiles are likely to be aware of the derivation of Boxster it may be of little importance to the general public, but then again, we do distinguish ourselves from the general public in all matters Porsche, do we not? For those challenged/repulsed/disappointed by the name Cayman I would humbly suggest 987 Coupe vs 987 Roadster much as one refers to 993/996/997 coupe vs. cabrio. This would be apt since the general public refers to the Porsche "911" regardless of vintage or interal chasis designation.
