    I think my HORN is broken !?!?!?

    Usually it's a really loud AIR HORN sound and now it sounds like a litte SQUEEK ?!!?

    Anyone else have a horn fail ? The horn on my 2000 996 failed right before I turned in the car in Jan so I never bothered to have it looked at....

    jiggle the fuse, could be not contacting enough, check other connectors if you can get to them. Sounds like not enough amperage is getting thru the connectors to the horn. Also try to blow air behind the steering wheel horn switches? Jiggle them too. Hit the horn(s) with a mallet or lighly with a hammer, loosen them up, brand new and could be "stuck" on a "burr" or something.

    Not sure exactly, but it "has" to be in front and underneath, right? get on the pavement and look underneath.

    Go nuts looking for it and then find out it's behind the dash!

    I had the horn fail on my boxster. Apparently there are two horn sounders - one for the high pitch and one for the low.

    Sounds like one of your two units has failed, making the other feel lonely!

    I've had the same thing happen to me. All you have to do is to press hard against the Porsche crest on your steering wheel (once or twice while holding it for about 3 seconds) and the normal sound should return. It worked well for me (997S); the horn has not failed ever since.

    You probably push the horn at the side and not the center of the steering wheel, am I correct? Good luck and keep us posted!

    I thought I was the only one, Will try that as well but I'm having it checked by the dealer with another small issue.

    beleive it or not ...im havin the same problem too!,,,after 2 weeks the horn sound started to get squeaky ,,, i thought it was normal but after readin ur post ill try with the middle push!
    tell me if there is any updates

    I tried the middle push and it did nothing different....
