    Not as much whining!!!

I've noticed lately there does seem to be as much complaining about service issues on the 997. Granted you hear of the odd thing but people get it fixed and move on enjoying their cars. I don't hear of anymore Skip or JBoyko sagas. I'd have to consider that a positive and further confirms a good purchase. Anyone else agree?

    Re: Not as much whining!!!

Funny also, because nobody mentions the 50 buttons, the lack of spare and to a lesser extent the Beetle headlights as much either.

Oh, I wouldn't call reactions to those service issues "whining," I'd call them justified pissed-ness.

    Re: Not as much whining!!!

On this and other forums, I'm still hearing a TONNE of whining about rattles, squeaks and creaks.

    Re: Not as much whining!!!

I think its driving pleasure that suppresses whining about the minor issues with creaks and rattles...

I've got some of those [Rattles and Creaks] but I have been driving the car almost every day under the CALI SUN and just flat out enjoy it.

Maybe when it's dreary and cloudy then I'll choose to take it to the dealer and whine about the rattles and creaks.

    Until then... Just drive baby!

    Re: Not as much whining!!!

Yea, that's my only beef. I've tried to tune them out

    Re: Not as much whining!!!

My creaking issue is very minor, and does not detract from my enjoyment of the car.... it really doesn't worry me if it's there to stay, but if it can be fixed.... why not??

    Re: Not as much whining!!!

2700 Miles and not a problem (January Build). Though, the 50 buttons are a bit annoying.

    Re: Not as much whining!!!

There was a recent thread about someone who had clutch failure before break-in was complete.

The electrical gremlins keep popping up from time to time.

My understanding is that Cayennes had some ongoing issues, primarily elecrical, for at least the first 2 production years.

Let's not forget that Porsche doesn't even bother to iron out some wrinkles, like RMS leaks.

Clearly it is an enjoyable car, but I remain concerned that early model issues may not have been completely ironed out yet.

Yeah, I agree. It's a well engineered car.

    Re: Not as much whining!!!

You better get rid of that "road kill" on the front of your car that those guys are looking and pointing at.

    Re: Not as much whining!!!

Given 2 of today's new posts, it seems the whining continues . . .

(Check out the 996 forums for less whining )

    Re: Not as much whining!!!

Hmm, may have spoken too soon....
