CarreraS Modifcations Pat 1 -- Blue tooth
There are a couple of things that I thought Porsche could have done to make the car a better daily driver. One of those was integrating Blue tooth. So even though Porsche did not do it I got my local custom shop to install a Parrot 3100 in what I think some of you might be interested in. There has been a lot of discussion about the sports Chronometer in the dash or as some people call it "the wart" I like the Parrot Blue tooth because it has caller ID and Auto answer. In addition in syncs up any changes you have made in the directory of the phone every time you get into the car. We used the Pause pin out in the radio harness to pause audio when the phone rings and you can see the message "external phone active" displays when you are making or receiving a call. We used the center speaker in the dash exclusively for the blue tooth hands free which works out very well. The Sports chronometer is actually still in the dash hidden under the Parrot. We did that because the MOST bus expects for the clock to be there and if it is not connected you get errors. Anyway I think they did a very nice job installing and it works great with my Motorola Razor (I can comment on other phones). This is installment one of my Modifications as we also had to come up with an idea on how to integrate my IPOD without an FM modulation. I will discuss that as soon as I have taken more pictures.
