    Pics of my new V6

I've finally gotten round to taking some pics of my car. I've done a few basic mods to it: Titanium front grilles, titanium Cayenne badge on rear, sports design side skirts, wheel arch extensions, and aluminium trim on the front and rear consoles. I had the Sport design rear spoiler and sport tail pipes fitted yesterday.

hi isuk, fantastic car, could you maybe make a short video clip of what the sport tail pipes sound like on a V6?

Re: Rear view with sports exhausts and Sport design spoiler

    Mike,

Thanks for the positive comment. The sports tail pipes don't really alter the exhaust note a lot over the standard set up to be honest which was already fairly raspy. I don't have a video camera unfortunately, sorry.

Re: Rear view with sports exhausts and Sport design spoiler

wonderful and precious car. Isuk Congratulations. The sport rear spoiler is great. I thinking about to put it on my car. I have a V6. Could it be possible to see some pics on the inside?

Re: Rear view with sports exhausts and Sport design spoiler

Beautiful Cayenne, it looks very nice

Re: Rear view with sports exhausts and Sport design spoiler

    oh alright, thanks anyways

Good that you didn't get tempted to add an "S" or "Turbo"

Re: Pics of my new V6

thanks Isuk. The aluminium pack looks great. Can you tell us something about your point of view of the car's features?

Re: Pics of my new V6

    hellion,

I'm really impressed with the V6 pepper. I had an E60 530d before it which pulled like a train and was very quick. I wanted to go back to a 4x4 for the better driving position, space for haulings things around and generally just for a change to a saloon. I used to have an X5 3.0i sport which I loved and I considered a 3.0d this time around. I drove a demo for a couple of days and it was a great car but there are so many of them on the roads in the UK now that it just didn't feel individual enough for a car that was going to cost over Pounds50k with the options I wanted.

I've always been drawn to the Cayenne and after buying a 997 Carrera in March I thought I should give one a try. I arranged a 24hr test drive of a V6 but was concerned by the poor throttle response and sluggish gear tiptronic change on this car. I also drove a V8 but the tax bill for it in the UK was just silly as was the fuel consumption. After reading this forum and the comments on switching off PSM to improve gearshifts I decided to go ahead with buying a V6. A friend of mine knows a salesman at a Porsche centre and he came up with my car which was a dealer spec'ed order.

From the minute I collected the car I switched off the PSM during the early run in period of 600 miles or so as I knew the gearbox has adaptive learning software. My car now changes gear fairly aggressively when I want it to even with PSM switched on and there is little or no throttle hesitation. I've found it to be more than quick enough for normal everday driving and it has enough torque for overtaking sprints. The build quality is superb with no squeaks or rattles in the cabin.

The only negative points I have are the seats and PCM. I've found that the seats lack under thigh support and the cushion is too short for my legs. I've always had sports seats in BMW's/Audi's and they are much better than the Cayenne's. Coming from a BMW with i-drive I've found that PCM is a real step backwards. It isn't a bad system but when you are used to the simplicity of i-drive, being confronted with lots of buttons is a more complex, dangerous and long winded way of going through functions. The low position of the screen makes taking your eyese of the road more risky than the high mounted i-drive screen as well. I've quickly gotten used to it but I'd have i-drive back in a heartbeat over this system.

Fuel consumption hasn't been outstanding at an average of 16.9mpg thus far. Other than that it is a big thumbs up from me. I don't pass Cayennes every 5 minutes on the road (unlike X5s) and when I do, very few of them have as many exterior Tequipment parts so mine tends to stand out. My next minor mod will probably be the sport air filter from Carnewal to improve the already throaty rasp of the exhaust.

Re: Pics of my new V6

Thanks for your explanation, Isuk. I needed to know the opinion of my car from somebody who has goods references about speedies and sports cars. In my family always have had sports cars and for me the Cayenne V6 isn't a sport car but it's features are very good. Many people in many forums sais that the V6 is very poor of features, slow, heavy without probe it. It's incredible. I thought, perhaps this people drives great and speedies cars but not. I like very much your exterior equipment. Congratulations Again.
