Indeed. I recall reading (? on this board) that the air intakes behind the doors for the 997TT might look like the profile of the CarreraGT with the intake recesses behind the doors nearly door-height, sort of what that test mule looked like that they showed on onlyporsche.net and which I think is pretty cool looking.
Now if only they would make the 997TT with CGT power, then I'd be ecstatic!

RC,
I believe onlyporsche.net also suggests the 997TS version might have 525hp. Based on Porsche's history (and Dr. Wiedeking's tendencies), do you think that sounds like a reasonable power increase? Hopefully, they'll keep the turbo on a diet. . . .

RC, do you have any idea if Porsche will put the 997TT cabrio for sale alongside the coupe? Or do you think it will be later or even a lot later? Any thoughts on this?

I really can't wait to see and hear about the details of this car. Unfortunately, a fully loaded turbo S is probably going to be about $165K. Oh well, it'll be worth it.

997 Turbo, latest news from Athens dealer
Today was at my dealer and talked to him about my 997 Turbo order, he says that no DSG for the Turbo, just normal Tiptronic or Manual... Then again 480bhp... And finally no deposits on the cayman, customers are very sceptical and prefer to see it in the flesh and test drive it to order one... over and out!

here's another interesting thing about the picture.
It's a stock 997 carrera [ non - s ], if you look again at the picture, you'll see it's impossible for the shaddow of the exhausts to be where they are at the bottom of the picture.
It's a bit confusing to explain but look carefully at the shadow at the bottom.

I went to the one in Halandri, i m the first on the list, so i was asking specifically for 'my' car, maybe in the second model year the dsg will be an option! I still have to wait until june 2006 to get my car, so until then things might change...

3) Turbo coupe/GT3 - Spring 2006
4) Turbo cab. - Summer 2006- 06&07 MY
5) Turbo S/S Cab - Fall 2006 - 07MY
6) 1 year break
7) Fall 2007 - MY 2008 998

I suspect your calendar for release of the 997 variants is accurate. My heart is set on the TSCab, and I hope she is released before fall of 2006, so I can still enjoy her with the top down while the good weather still holds.
Where I live in upstate New York State, we get 100 inches of lake effect snow and 6 months of winter a year, usually by November.
However, I wouldn't be surprised if even the TT Coupe base price broached $140K, and the TSCab might go north of $150K.
