    S Cab delivered

    Turned in my 997S Coupe (Arctic/Cocoa)as the Cab arrived Thursday (Atlas/Terracotta;SportChrono;ThickerSteeringWheel;SportShift;Painted CenterConsole&BeltOutlets;Heated Seats;CarreraClassics)
    Unfortunately, only got to drive it from dealer to home garage as TS Arlene was dumping on us here in FL. SportShift is nice, feels like B&M unit on prev cars.
    Have had many since 1990, started with 944S2,graduated to every permutation of 911(save for GT2&3cars). Coupes & Cabs, normally aspirated & turbos.
    I think the 997S is the most enjoyable Porsche I've owned.Looking forward to the weather lifting so I can get out and put it to use.

    Nice to see this famous thicker steeringwheel.
    It seems really thicker !
    I'll maybe retrofit there for. The standard one is the only thing on my C2s I'm a bit disappointed about...

    If you can afford a porsche 997s cab, I'm sure you can buy proper camera

    Beautiful ale! Great colour combo.

    How is that steering wheel? I ordered the sports steering wheel and it's about as big as I'd like to go (still too big for a sports car IMO, although I did just come from a Lotus!!)... I almost went for the thicker wheel but since I couldn't try/see one in person I just went for smaller instead. Feels a bit flat at the edges to me though.

    The thicker wheel option is a must. Had it first on my turbo cab. Was not available on the 997S Coupe when I ordered it, so I took the custom leather option which was a waste of money because no difference in rim thickness, just nicer grade of leather (which should have, of course, been included as I had the cocoa interior in that car).

    I've only put about 50 miles on the car and it is, so far, wonderful. There is unquestionably a design defect with the new style side mirrors in their application for a cab - they do, indeed, whistle.

    The car, as with all my previous Porsche cabs, is rock solid. You'd be hard pressed to know the car had no roof. With suspension in normal mode, it is a tad softer than was the coupe setup (seat of pants analysis). Sport setting seems about the same.

    I am installing tubistyle exhaust, and will be replacing the wheels with Champion RG98s which I had on the coupe.

    Fit and finish are excellent. No gremlins yet.Atlas is a very rich color, certainly done no justice by cell phone camera. The terracotta is very nice. I would have special ordered a more bordeaux colored red but, as we know, that throws production of by 4-whenever months.

    Console and belt outlets in exterior color are must have - breaks up the interior.

    The sport shifter is notchy; expect it will settle in like the rest of the car.
