    sorry...made a mistake, not 290 HP but 260 HP

    The Noble M400 does 0-60 in 3.3 secs...

    Why is the original post a choice between a 4wd Porsche and a Noble? Surely a Carrera S is more similar in spirit to a Noble than a 4wd version?

    @throt: yes the car doesn't not have traction control, but the wheelspin is very minor as you can see, it's suspension setup and mid-engine layout helps out a lot

    @carlos: always welcome! it would be a bit faster with the right octane fuel and if it were down at sea level!!

    lol yes it's gears are short for the first 4 for tight twisty tracks, but the remaining 2 are much longer for highway cruising!

    Man alive your car looks like a missile. I have driven one before and loved it and if it wasn't my abject fear of Britsh cars and their build quality I would probably have one like a shot. Unfortunately my Elise was a bag of [censored] and has put me off all Brit cars.

    it seems you got a "dud" elise, someone i know has an elise and he seems pretty happy with his, he says the build quality is obviously not up there with everybody else, but it hasn't given him any serious problems..

    my brother loves his Exige , before owned an Elise..some little problems ( nothing major) it's very normal on a British car...
    I try to make him switch to a GT3 but he says nothing beats his 260 HP Exige around a twisted( slow) trac and would not change it for anything else.

    Mine had oil starvation twice while on track so I guess I did use it quite hard.

    To be fair my mate has one at the moment and his has 40,000 miles or more on it and it hardly ever gives him any problems.

    Now that the Elise comes with a Toyota engine I would love to see how well it goes.

    i also tried a TVR Sagaris the other day and despite all the acclaim by the motoring press it does have one significant failing. If you push it hard over a bumpy road the rear will ground out not only recking the underneath but potentially a danger as well. Shame because it looks awesome.
