    19-inch Carrera Sport Wheel -NEW OPTION

    WELL i read this in a scanned brochure for carrera 4 and 4S


    Dont know what it is , have not seen yet...

    Also it is not a typo as a guy in another forum placed an order and it was on the options list for the carrera4

    So i guess i ll start searching for a pic,when i find i ll post@

    I placed an order for a C2S with Carrera Classics a couple of weeks ago - while I was there the dealer told me that there'd be a new 19" wheel option soon. He reckoned it would be a 10 spoke design.

    You know what I "Expect" as far as "Excellence" is concerned? I would expect the dealer would call or have someone call to get the answer to your question. Get you a picture of the new wheel ask you if you'd like to change your order etc.

    Instead it's like you, I and the dealer (!) are just killing time chatting and guessing on an internet forum.

    I think you should expect a wheel similar to that on the 997 GT3 prototype (the one with the black wheels)

    With the 996 you could also get a GT3-style wheel, same for the 997 I assume...
    The name Sport-design just makes it more 'probaple' (excuse me guys if that isn't even a word...)

    I don't have it at hand but I remember seeing a yellow 997 GT3 mule picture with black painted wheels. THESE are the new wheels, just search for it.

    From page 7, of the May/June 2005 Porsche Marketing News(a bi-monthly update exclusively for PCNA dealers) the following:
    "19 Inch Carrera Sport Wheel will be introduced for the new 911, the Boxster and the Cayman". A box insert reveals that the front rim is 8.5Jx19 (compared to Carrera S Wheel 8Jx19)
    the front tire 235/35ZR19 (same)
    Front offset 55 (vs 57)
    Rear rim is 11.5Jx19 (vs. 11Jx19)
    Rear tire is 305/30ZR19 (vs. 295/30ZR19)
    Rear offset is 67 (same)

    But the black color aside, do you think that is the sport design wheel or will the GT3 wheel be different than the sport design wheel?

    Yep, those aren't the sport design (which has 15 spokes). The one on the picture only has 10.

    Yep, these are the new GT3 wheels (on the pic). But I seriously doubt that they are the new "carrera sport wheels". It does not make any sense to put on sale the 997 GT3's wheels before the GT3 hits the market.

    997 GT3's wheels will be available on all models but after the 997 GT3 comes out. Not Before.

    I bet my shirt that those "carrera sport wheels" will be different from what's been posted.

    Personaly I would be surprised if the 997GT3 wheels are 19". Dont forget that the GT3 has always been a road going version of the GT3 Cup Car and I believe that the 997GT3 will have 18" wheels. Please correcty me if you think otherwise.
