My dealer said he doubts it a great deal that Porsche would intentionally delay delivery of July built 2006 cars 'til September. Why? Simply because "dealers don't have enough cars on the lots." He said he'd call Porsche to find out and get back to me; still waiting for news... .
MMD, if I had a scanner I would scan it for you, but every Wednesday's Wall St Journal *Personal Journal* section carries within it two pages of all automotive. ISRINGHAUSEN Porsche in Illinois has posted ads in each of the last 2 or 3 Wednesday's editions with the entry:
"06 CARRERAS.....AUGUST DELIVERY". Check out this past Wed's WSJ--regional editions may or may not include ISRINGHAUSEN'S advert. Maybe it is optimistic advertising by the dealer, ultimately holding clients in suspense until Sept?...have no reason to believe that, though.
I have a MY 06 July 2005 build myself through a dealer in Midwest (no pricing on pro forma invoice yet--yours confirmed pricing yet MMD ?), with delivery scheduled as soon as they can get it here. Never a peep from my dealer about any hold-back to synch with September MY changeover or any such thing as that.
Amusing magazine cover from 1987 below...factory Slantnose (cosmetic changes only if I am not mistaken) upgrade of $23K then would be $40K in today's dollars. Crazy! Makes 997 factory aerokit prices look like a steal.
