    Next rennteam meet

OK. Once I've stopped grinning, I'll get on with planning the next social.

    Votes for:
    - a) A Sunday only
    - b) A Sat eve social with optional stopover in a rural inn for those having further to travel, followed by Sunday drive.

    For weekends:
    - 21/22 May
    - 28/29 May (though I'd prefer to avoid the bank holiday, might be busy.)
    - 4/5 June (Other end of bank holiday week, so possibly also busy. Or busier.)
    - 11/12 June
    - 18/19 June

    Re: Next rennteam meet

Sunday 12th or 19th June good for us.

    Re: Next rennteam meet

    Thanks

Sundays are good, I don't mind a bit of a drive to the event location (how could I?).

    - 21/22 May - OK
    - 28/29 May (though I'd prefer to avoid the bank holiday, might be busy.) - No go (have family over)
    - 4/5 June (Other end of bank holiday week, so possibly also busy. Or busier.) - Sunday 5th OK
    - 11/12 June - Possibly Sunday but need to check with visiting brother in law when he leaves
    - 18/19 June - OK

    Re: Next rennteam meet

May be meet up en-route and "convoy" down there.

Come see a man with a big willie!

Gosh, I do hope that doesn't require censoring!

I'm organising the next Rennteam South-of-England meet for Sunday 19th June.

Probably go drive along the picturesque Dorset coast, then head down some twisty roads inland to stop at a pub for lunch near this well-endowed chappie:
    > WebSite: Cerne Abbas Giant <

I'll try to fit in as many other scenic points for photos as I can, and can absolutely guarrantee excellent weather now that I've finally gone topless

    So, who's up for it?

Re: Come see a man with a big willie!

Visiting a giant naked man? What a question... *raises hand*

    Sure can.

Me for sure on 19th June.

Re: Come see a man with a big willie!

Just to ease any concerns fellow Rennteamers may have about my sexual orientation, my enthusiasm for the Dorest Rennteam Meet is not entirely to see the man with a big willie.

Re: Come see a man with a big willie!

Count us in! 2 weeks w/o the car is killing me - they better of fixed those rattles when I go and pick it up - tempted to get the taxi from the airport straight to the dealers when I get back.....

    Not entirely...But partly?

Would you like a bigger spade?

And I was worried that people might look at the initial change of subject and think I was aluding to YOUR tackle! He's only shown me his PCM, honest folks!

Back on topic... Be good to see you three (six?)... any more for any more?

Re: Come see a man with a big willie!

At least you are keeping the miles down - nearly 3000 on mine already!

I wish - 2600+ when it went in last week - and that's being away for almost a month in total over the last three - no garage queen mine...

Julie's said OK to the 19th, so I suppose I can drag myself out for the day

Re: Come see a man with a big willie!

Cool. Hey, I've only got about 850 on mine so far. Good to feel the wind in my hair today though. I need to get out more.

New recruits needed methinks. Perhaps we should leave some Rennteam calling cards under some other 987-owners' wipers. I've seen a silver one driving around... but then it might have been Dreamcar on one of his extended tours...

Re: Come see a man with a big willie!

Well there were at least a couple of people who couldn't make last time for some poor excuse or other - best man at a wedding, or hadn't got their cars yet - let's hope they can make this one!

Had lunch on Sat with some owners over here that I'd met via another board (pre-Rennteam) - just as mad out here too!!

Can't do that bit in my car - even with the roof down

    Roll up, Roll up

Best man? What a lame excuse!

And you're all welcome, even if you HAVEN'T got your cars yet. (Like me, last time).

    Re: Roll up, Roll up

Just realised, June 19th is Fathers' Day in the UK. Don't know if that messes things up for anyone. Could re-schedule if it causes grief.

    Re: Roll up, Roll up

Good point. I will consult Social Secretary and advise. I think Sat 18th OK, but the following weekend we are off to the wilds of North Yorkshire for two weeks.

    Gratuitous Bump!!!

Just keeping this in the eye line of people - what's the latest re date and availability?

    Re: Gratuitous Bump!!!

I'm getting nervous about the 19th. Might be forced to do in-law things that weekend, due to the damn greetings card industry.

I think we should have a "Porsche Owners' Day", where we all get the day off from work and other people have to buy us cream cakes.

Gratuitous Bump? Are you pregnant Rich?
(Thanks for bringing this up the list).

If the weekend of the 19th goes south, what's the next best weekend? Is this weekend (Sun 12th) too early?

Also... we need new recruits! Who's up for a trip to Dorset?

    Re: Gratuitous Bump!!!

I could do the 12th - hey lets be spontenious! Even if it's just an excuse for a blat to the pub.

"Porsche Owners Day" - I like the sound of that, I'll see if I can convince my boss that it's a public holiday too.

    Re: Gratuitous Bump!!!

12th good for me , as well.

    Re: Gratuitous Bump!!!

OK. Weather looks OK for Sunday.

    Ente? CharlesL?

    Sorry for the short notice!

    And anyone else of course!!!

    Re: Gratuitous Bump!!!

Let me check on the 12th. We have family over (brother in law) and the Boxster holds only 2 people so we cannot just throw him in and take him with us.

    Re: Gratuitous Bump!!!

Ente: Sure. Be good if you can make it. Sorry for the change.

Perhaps some people could do a run on the 18th or 19th as well? I'm still not firmly booked by in-laws on that weekend.

    Sunday 12th

For those that fancy a run out on Sunday, I propose meeting up in Dorchester, in the square at >Poundbury< (Sorry, it's the best link I could find at short notice, the official site is a mess).

I guess people coming from further away can meet up on the way... What time would be a good time to meet up in Dorchester?

I'm proposing a little run out along the >Coast<, cross country to Cerne Abbas for lunch, then back to Dorchester.

Depending on how much time people want to spend on the road, I'll run a route around there that avoids holiday traffic. The roads aren't like Salisbury plain though, so it may be more slower paced and more planned around photo opportunities.

I propose 11am to meet at Poundbury, and 3.30pm to be back at Dorchester to head back whence you came. Please feel free to modify those times.

    Re: Gratuitous Bump!!!

Think I can make it. Don't need a huge program to have fun, just a time and a place. Hacking the meeting location into the NAVI will ensure I'll get to see the scenic route on the way there... though possibly not the actual destination . Where are all the other UK drivers?

Rich I trust you bring Daisy Dollop as well?

    Sunday 12th

Be great if you can make it, Ente. I'll try to make it not too long, but not too short. I hope the weather is OK!

And yes, where is everyone else? We need to beat four cars in a row!

    Re: Sunday 12th

Count us in (although the Rab is on vacation at the moment). And don't you know it - just put the route planner into action and our route includes some of the best driving roads in th country (that's accourding to both me and Autocar) the Salisbury/Blandford road.

Ente - check your route, think you might come close to Andover/Salisbury on the way down so if you want to meet to convoy down the rest of the way let us know. Route planner may say M3/A31, but you could hit holiday traffic big time if the weathers nice....
