    my god.. i dun understand wats the big deal.. i think some aerokits make ur car looks much better.. it doesnt add performance to ur car but so wat? some ppl likes their car to look better. its all a matter of opinion.. its the same as changing ur rims..

    i personally think gemballa makes great aerokits for boxster.

    The kindest thing to say about areokits is they are different. There is nothing tasteful or elegant about any of them. Want spoilers and skirts on your car? Buy a Ford or a Toyota or similar. NOT a pedigree quality sports car like a Boxster

    This thread is so pathetic.

    Guys, chill out. There's nothing wrong with putting on an aerokit if that's what you want... Different strokes for different folks.

    Dreamcar, RC, and others... Who you are you to judge what looks good to someone else?

    And to say the Boxster doesn't need an aerokit spoiler because it's not a GT3. Give me a break. There IS a spoiler already on the Boxster in case you haven't noticed, and it provides downforce at speed. It's not just there as eye candy. Most spoilers don't come into play until 120-130mph, and last I remember, the Boxster does well over that.

    I agree that the subject is just one of those we have to agree to disagree on. It doesn't really matter if someone puts an aerokit on their car or not. It's up to them in the end.

    I think your argument that they are put on by people to improve the high-speed aerodynamics is way out though. Most people put them on to change the look of their car. Most people don't drive their cars fast enough to need the extra stability, and are just needlessly increasing drag and fuel consumption.

    But each to their own.

    Certain subjects just provoke controversy, and this is one.

    And I am sure Porsche spent $$$$$ honing the aerodynamics of the car so that plastic addenda are unecessary. All they do is add weight and drag which will have an adverse effect on performance and fuel economy. As you quite rightly say there is already an automatically extending rear spoiler on the Boxster. And also, quite rightly it is up to the individual. But my point is why bother when the money that areokits cost could surely be much better put to making the car genuinely better.

    I am on the fence about the Aerokits - but one thing that pulls at me is when someone who saw me buying the last Excellence issue with the Boxster S told me about an episode of "Two and a Half Men". He explained the premise of Jon Cryer's character purchasing a Boxster - and everybody called it a "Chick" car - even the news casters who later colored the hi-speed chase of the his car.
    It was not 2 days when someone else (2 women) said the same thing about the car to me in person.
    Now I am comfortable with my purchase and my masculinity, but something like the Aerokit might help some people feel more comfortable in a "Chick" car.
    I do not think the people at Porsche would like knowing that their newly re-engineered Boxster is being called that either.
    I do believe that however the Porsche Designs and Markets the Aerokits under the Techquip product line, so someone there feels that there is a need for additional aerodynamic stylings.

    You know, I've had nothing but good experiences with women in regards to the Boxster. Since it IS a "chick car", the chicks like how it looks....

    I haven't seen an aerokit for a Boxster that I liked. But I keep an open mind about, maybe the one for the 987 will be a "must have"...

    As for the Boxster being a "chick car." I hope that's true. I hope that I'm the only guy at the first Porsche DE I attend, and that I spend the entire time talking to some fellow Boxster owners.
