    The wait is just about over!!!

    I will pick up my first porsche on Thursday!! 997s cab seal gray w/ black top. This may sound silly but I have dreamed about having a porsche since I was a little kid and at 54 I am now feeling like a little kid. . I have been hanging around this forum since I ordered my porsche in Dec04 and have very much appreciated the input and conversation.I will post pictures as soon as I can. Thanks John

    Congrats John.... I am placing my order for a 06 997S this week...after a 20 year wait, just like the commercial.

    Congratulations! If you think you feel like a kid now...wait until you crank the engine and take a long sweeper at speed...your grin is gonna be busting off your face! Post pics when you get it! Seal is a really elegant color...

    I know exactly what you mean. About the same for me. I owned a very old (and cheap) xth hand 911 a long time ago, and I didn't keep it for a long time (it was dying). Never owned a new one. Too expensive. It's a kids dream to buy now a brand new one, and first of all to drive it. 911 : the only car you dreamed about when you were a ten years old kid and you can still buy new when you're 50+ years old...
    Congratulations, enjoy it as you still were a kid !

    WTG John Same dream as a teenager and age 57 came fast. In retrospect, had I purchased one years ago, it probably would not have been appreciated as much. "Driving to work" takes on a whole new meaning. The very best.

    Altough i'm a little younger (44) i had the same dream since childhood...
    I set the mark at 35 for my first p : a 965 (5y old)
    then came the 993 (1.5Y old)
    then the 996 cab (2.5 y old)
    And now , what i never had expected, but wher i'm very thilled by: the first new one: the 997S cab

    we obviously share the same dreams overhere

    congrats man, it must feel good to forfill a life long dream! much much more special than the feeling you get when you get a new car, don't get me wrong it still feels good, but when comparing to a life-long dream, it's something out of this world!! congrats again!!

    My dream to , always wanted a P before the big 40 from a small boy . Hopefully the 997S will lead on to the biggy a CGT , just got to push the right business buttons in the next five year...but hey this will more than do me .

    I am delighted with my order , its a great machine...
