    Ahhh.. I love fencing... I think perhaps someday I should take it up . Actually, I am a pretty easy going woman, not easily offended at all, love every moment and aspect of being a woman, and also love porsches, men, and I really love my car. Not many things are better (except a few), than driving my 911, top down, music on, sun on my face, and feeling the power and precision of my car on the road, and wind through my hair.

    Having said that, I will agree that there are many differences between men and women... wouldn't life be boring if we were all the same? And I do love being female. But being female doesn't mean that a 911 isn't a real woman's car... And I think that was the point I was trying to make here, seeing as how I am probably one of the few women in this forum that probably do own a one. And that probably has to do more with women not being financially able to own one, as well as the significant other (man in their life) most likely having the "sportscar" to drive, which means she must drive the practical car for family, storage, etc., in order to take care of the more routine things in life we all have.


    You may see me as overly sensitive, but I assure you that I am nothing even close to the word (unless you offend my car)... would I drive and own a 9114S if I were? Grin. But in response to your post Silver Bullet, I could say that your response is a "typical" male response as well... Touche!

    PS: Thanks all for the congratulations on my new car... I really love it and I think I am going to enjoy the new friends I make as a owner of it as well .

    Thanks for the welcomes and I'd like to give hugs to the ones I gave a hard time here... especially to RC that I singled out in the quote. I hope you see my sense of humor and hope the rest of you can appreciate that as well

    Hi everyone I'm new here but I've been lurking for a while.

    The topic and posts have been interesting to read, but I think it all boils down to taste and where you let your eyes rest. That is, certain aspects of the car appeal to some people who often focus on something that another person may not (which I think has a lot to do with taste). I think this makes sense from a designer's (and salesman's) point of view if you want to maximize the appeal of a product. I'm not saying a Porsche is gender neutral, but I think the Porsche design team consciously gives it's cars varying levels of masculine and feminine appeal that works at a very subconcious level.

    Personally, my eyes rest on the Cayman's rear, it gives me the impression of looking at a lion from behind resting on its hind legs ready to pounce. The front fog lights look like teeth sticking out of a Caiman's mouth, providing a physical connection to the car's namesake, which I think is very clever on Porsche's part.

    Another observation, if I may be so bold, the engine intakes are reminiscent of shark gills. If taken along with the other animal-like qualities (not to mention the name itself) the Cayman is a veritable Chimera!

    The Cayman will probably see a predominantly male buyer group, i.e. a "GT3 light". Not that women should/would not drive it, it is just going to appeal a bit more to men due to the aggressive image and likely end up being sold to more guys than girls. All the more fun to drive one as a girl where/if it happens .
