    997 C4s or Noble M14??

Today when i was browsing the website, i accidentally clicked into the noble website and found out about this beautifully built beast. www.noblecars.com . The style is much like ferrari or cars of the same line but the price is much less. Any opionion on this new car VS the 997?

    Re: 997 C4s or Noble M14??

noble is a kit car...beautifully built? checkout the interior! if u want a real car, get a porsche.

    Re: 997 C4s or Noble M14??

if you want a nice interior get a porsche, get a noble if you want to have fun at a track day!

    Re: 997 C4s or Noble M14??

    Is noble street legal?

In Europe - Noble M14 - no contest

The M14 pisses all over the 997S. If you need the fancy interior to make you happy, buy a Lexus.

Re: In Europe - Noble M14 - no contest

noble is a nice car.. but its not a porsche... speed isnt everything.

Re: In Europe - Noble M14 - no contest

if i would buy a noble it would be the m12 gto but the m14... i dunno

Re: In Europe - Noble M14 - no contest

Mike S.....Give us please a more precise report on the Noble Vs Carrera S as you have tem both, no ?

I dont understand people like you....
Getting a car in this price range, no, in ALL price ranges is not just about performance.
The Noble might be faster, but it does not even come close to comparing to a 911 in Heritage, or anything else for that matter.... If thats the way you think, hey, why not tell the guy to buy a crappy old golf 1 & spend the rest of his money modding it, then you will get a car that performs but offers nothing else. I guess that will make you happy.

Re: In Europe - Noble M14 - no contest

    2 very different cars...

If your a regular track day hero, your gonna be much better of in a noble, but if you need performance, comfort and style you get the porker.

If I had to choose I'd take a 997... Ideally I'd have both though!!

Re: In Europe - Noble M14 - no contest

I think both cars are quite the best in their own terrain so, like it's been said, it all depends on your taste/style and needs. I'd like to have both too hehe

sorry for the slow reply, only checked the net today...

firstly you CANNOT compare the 2, they are total different cars! and plus I have the M400 not the M14 noble... so i'm giving my pros and cons on the M400 vs the Carrera S Cab.

The noble is a very track orientated car, it has a rollbar, no ABS, no form of traction control. It has a very light feeling but with great grip on the road, especially around corners!! the interior is cheap and tacky compared to the porsche, it is very focused on the view of the road not the dash , but that is why i bought the car, it is just purely a driving machine, none of my other cars have given me so much pleasure to drive!

the 997 on the other hand is a great car too! i haven't unfortunately been able to drive so much in it lately, but so far from what i've gathered is: well the steering is totally different, especially when it's around turns... takes a bit of getting used to! the braking and suspension setup is superb, espeically with the PSM in sport mode! but then again mine is a cab, so you can't compare it to the abilities of the coupe... the engine is also very willing, very smooth, where as the nobles engine goes from placid to insane(once the turbo are at full boost)! like i said, i have only driven 900km's in the car so far so i haven't been able to take it to it's limits, will follow up on that when i do

both are very good cars, but in total different leagues, so you can't compare the two really... best thing would be is to go to a dealer and test drive both and make your analysis

climb in a noble and DRIVE it BCE, then come tell me if a chassis of a modded golf will handle as good as a noble around a track and heritage has to start from somwhere doesn't it> what else do you expect noble to do? i'm not bad mouthing you, just stating the facts

Re: In Europe - Noble M14 - no contest

I would take the M400, that's the star of the lineup...

Re: In Europe - Noble M14 - no contest

Thanks for all the advice. Don't you guys think that the M14 looks kind of like a ferrari and with a neat interior this time? If you read the article carefully, they use the leather that ferrari use. I really don't know since i already have two porsche, and I might as well get another kind of car just for the heck of it. Although the price tag is high, i think it is worth it as Mike S said, it also offers a great drive.

hi throt, i have the m400, not the m14, the m14 i'd imagine would be better for everyday use as it has 2 storage spaces, whereas the m400 only has space behind the seats, so depending on how far back you move your seat is how much storage space you have

Re: In Europe - Noble M14 - no contest

Why get a Noble? Get a Lotus Elise for a lot less money and just as much trackability.

What exactly do you mean by trackability? You can certainly drive them both at the track, but the Noble is in an entirely different category of performance. It would destroy the lap time of the Elise...

Re: In Europe - Noble M14 - no contest

not to mention that it will keep up and beat most of it's more expensive competitors!

Re: In Europe - Noble M14 - no contest

What I meant was that it is basically a pure track car (hang onto your teeth if you drive it on the surface streets around here), will pull a G, and give you the thrill of driving a race car for a lot less money. In the US a Noble is a kit car that runs $100K, while an Elise is $40K and comes put together.

The times were actually reasonably close in the comparison review I read. I think it was EVO's COTY issue.

Re: In Europe - Noble M14 - no contest

what do you mean it is a kit car? my noble was delivered totally built. plus the elise doesn't have the presence the noble does! i've driven past guys in they're elises and they almost break their necks trying to see what the hell it is i'm driving

If you can dig out the numbers, I'd be curious to see them. The M400 has 400hp/ton and the Elise has 190hp/ton. I can't imagine the lap times are very close...

Re: In Europe - Noble M14 - no contest

In the US it comes in two boxes without an engine. You have to put it together yourself and add the missing parts yourself.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN ,, lmao Mike..

    throt..

Re: In Europe - Noble M14 - no contest

it seems there is only 1 dealer in the US, it's in Hamilton, Ohio. If you got your car from elsewhere then perhaps it would be a "kit car" but from an official dealer it will come completely built..

The car is imported with the engine outside the car (so it can skirt the smog regs on the motor that is not US DOT approved). However, it's not a DIY - there are authorized shops that install the motor for you...
