Re: Detectors are ALMOST useless
While we're on the subject, I've got a pet peeve. WHY, I mean WHY, do people insist on slamming on the brakes and slowing to a crawl when they see a cop on the side of the road writing a ticket??? HE'S BUSY!!!!!! HE'S COMMITTED!!! What in the hell do they think he's going to do? Drop everything, abandon the ticket he's in the process of issuing, jump in his car and chase you down??? All the while having ZERO CLUE as to how fast you were going in the first place because he was busy dealing with the citation at hand??? It just seems absolutely stupid to me the way people panic when there's a car pulled over getting a citation. When you see that, heck, that's when you know you're safe for awhile, and there's not likely another one that you'll encounter any time soon because they intentionally spread-out their resources. Every time there's some poor person on the side of the road getting written up, is one more time I've managed to dodge the same fate. Hell, I speed up a bit in the spirit of victory!!
