It's so very sad to see two active people being taken from us at such young age. I haven't had much dialogue with Ben, but from what I read here and on other similar boards he was a generous and respected gentleman with wit and humor. He had a true passion for cars and life, and if we should try to find any consolation amidst this, Ben and Corey passed away doing what they loved the most.
I know we all say these words a lot when someone buys a new car: "Be careful out there"...and even though this accident seems to have happened because of a series of unfortunate events, let's all bare in mind, that while all our "babies" can make our day...they can also seal our fate. So please, please be careful out there.
It was stunning to see the wrecked car and knowing it was someone you "know" in this tragedy. From all the posts on numerous sites, Ben Keaton, must've been a really good guy.
God bless your soul... God bless the family you leave behind...
As many of you, I just knew Ben from his posts, but as been said by many, he was a well respected man! My stomach turned over when I read the news. It's just so ironic we all got to know Ben because we all share the same car-madness, now it's the car that has to take him away from us. It really hurts seeing the picture of his daughter in that CGT knowing she lost her dad.
I'm deeply sorry, Condolences to his and Cory's family!
I never thought i would feel so miserable about a death of a Internet friend.
Ben, as already was said, was a role model for most of us, what we aspire to be when we grow older. It is utterly tragic a porschephile and great entusiast dieing doing what he loved most. I feel like i've lost a friend.
I never directly replied to any of his posts but whenever I saw something posted by him I had to read it. I was such a great presence to this community. I don't have any more words to express what I feel.
Ben's messages always reflected a very sympathetic person, with his knowledge and experience he was an appreciated contributor to this forum. I will miss him for sure.
Rest In Peace, Ben.
My deepest condolences to both families and close friends.
When I first read of people on here being on the waiting list for CGTs for some reason I was surprised.. I knew lots here had expensive cars, but somehow I thought only the mega-rich bought CGTs, Enzos etc - people not that into cars but want to show off. So seeing Ben and others here talking about their CGTs when they finally got them was refreshing and very interesting.
I did not knew him, although I read his posts like anyone else on this forum. I never thought I could have feelings that way for someone I only met through the internet. A thread has also been started on flat-6 and many people responded. http://www.flat-6.net/forum/showthread.php?t=13819
My condolences to those who knew him on this forum. And Guys, please drive carefully.
I am so sorry for everyone involved in this tragedy. May God bless the families; and help them through their grief. Rennteam members, hang in there. Remember; they are truly in a better place.... Revvv
