Whoopsy:Hmm, I actually find the M2 refreshing, especially against the repulsive M3/M4 giant pig nose.
The pics posted by Gnil with performance kits on looks quite purposeful.
I have recently developed FOMO for German front engined coupes having never owned a BMW or Mercedes. I know...incredible given the number of cars I have had over the years . Anyway, I was far too late to the party. No allocation for C63 Final Edition or M4 CSL. So now the only option is the new M2 .
My brother had the previous M2 in manual, and while the handling was pretty impressive, the car itself was quite underwhelming to drive. I didn't really see what all the hype is about to be honest. I put about 5,000 kms on the vehicle myself, between mountain drives, daily use, and two track session near my place. M2 owners have said that it's because it was a manual car, and that the dsg is a much more fun drive,

That got me thinking and counting And you are not alone.
Over the years, after like 70+ cars, I think I have ever owned exactly ONE German front engine coupe. That would be the 968 I bought two years ago. Before that, I had a Mercedes CLK500, but that's a convertible so not a coupe. Every other Mercedes BMW Audi I have ever bought was either a SUV or a 4 door sedan.

JoeRockhead:Wow. You guys have never owned even an M3? The E46 was brilliant when it first came out. I think it was the first NA engine in a production car putting out over 100 HP per litre. It remains the only car I regret selling.
The E36-M3 already had 100Hp/liter, it was the second car I owned, loved that L6 NA engine, and the RWD with mech limited slip.

Agreed, loved my E46 M3. To my eyes, M Cars have not been appealing since.

Carlos from Spain:JoeRockhead:Not in North America.
Oh that's right, I remember know, the E36-M3 had I believe only 250HP in North America for some reason?
240hp for both the 3.0L (1995) and the 3.2L (1996+)
