Re: SUN'S LAST RUN TO WILSON, WY - 991 C2S CAB LIFE, END OF AN ERA (Part II)
First Pista road trip report:
NOT this NON ostentatious!
But most left lane cruisers - a Utah way life - couldn't see the Pista as it went by at 120 in the R lane
- Car is a fkg rocket - in 7th, just press at 120 and voila: 145! Why shift? I guess it's a turbo. but very Linear and vvvvvery very quick. If you really need go, down shift and go. High speed acceleration is just SHOCKINGLY FAST.
- freeway running so only 100-146 max. it could use another gear [8th] as 145 is 5200 rpm, so on back country 2 lane cruising at 150-165 is gonna burn fuel
- tank only give you 280 or less range so have to plan stops in back country at 200 miles
- running through traffic in 5th and 6th 90-125 highly amusing but:
- beware blind spots by each door - but rear vision is excellent unlike super Fs
- in the Wild West, everyone loves it - "nice car", "super rad" etc.
- Thank God for Bumpy Road mode, the freeways are not smooth
- no issues - let's keep it this way. 3 500 milers for eye surgery, then 2000 if it's working
