    Probably not the most practical and versatile but it's the best looking SUV in the market by far imo and and engine to match.

    I like it but I need to see it live first to make a final statement. 

    So far, the Urus and this one are the best looking (and hopefully best driving) SUVs on the market.

    The Cayenne Turbo GT is probably the price/quality winner here and I would prefer it over the Lambo and Ferrari, simply because now is not the time to have a flashy SUV, especially not here in Europe. Smiley

    What is the point of this over a sedan when it has nearly zero off-road capability? Even its suspension is fixed spring with active dampers versus adjustable ride height air springs found with many of its competitors.  

    I think the point of this car is for those that want the popular SUV format with Ferrari DNA, and the style, engine, sound and handling that comes with it and are willing to accept compromises for it... and the pricetag it will likely carry. 

     

    But a sedan would improve on the styling, handling, and performance of a high riding crossover type of vehicle as it typically weighs less, has a lower center of gravity, and better aerodynamics. 

    True, but there are many customers who prefer the SUV format over a sedan because of the higher seated position, higher trunk with rear door, etc... also the SUV seems to be more fashionable than the age old sedan nowadays.

    Just look at Porsche, they offer 2 SUVs and just 1 sedan in their model line for a reason... each of the SUVs outsells the Panamera 5 fold.

    this gradual width increase that the whole industry has seen may have finally gone to far...

    2028mm wide? There are roads in London with entrance restrictions at 7 feet width, that will be nail-biting … or tackest you will need to buy a second set of wheels../

    Porsche does offer two sedans, the Panamera and the Taycan.  Other than a higher hip point what are the benefits of this over the excellent GTC4 Lusso?  Consider that because of the front mid-engine configuration both vehicles have drive for the front wheels disconnect around 90 km/hr and storage compartment is relatively tiny putting it on par with the same capacity found in the much smaller Porsche Macan. 
     

    I will state it in its entirety.  This is a vanity vehicle designed for the previous affluent Russian oligarchs and hip hop artists.

    Taycan is an EV, it is a complete different market than the others for reasons unrelated to the SUV-sedan format, so it really doesn't count. That said, when the EV Macan comes out I predict sales will be off the roof compared to the Taycan sedan.

    Sedans are not better than SUVs in every case, for some people the roomier cabin, higher view point on the roas, more confortable higher seating position, more practical higher boot with rear door, etc are a plus over the sedan, and like with every vehicle class (sportcar, sedan, SUV, compact, etc) there is always going to be a range from the most practical and versatile to the sportier more driving focused better looking models, it's no different with SUVs. And this Ferrari is just at one end of that spectrum for those that are looking for that. I don't see a problem with that. Kind of like the Merc G wagon in it's own class.

    I see the Bentley SUV and the like more for the Russian oligarchs and rapstar crowd than this, I see the Ferrari more for those that want some of the DNA of their other Ferraris, Lambo, etc that are in their garage in their SUV with a glorious V12 engine, best looks, and excellent dinamics for a SUV, that are willing to compromise in practicality, off-road capabilities, etc. Not my cup of tea, I'd take a more inconspicuous Cayenne or BMW instead, but I can appreciate it just as well.

    I have had just about all the vehicles, FF/Lusso, Panamera, Taycan, Taycan Cross Turisimo, Cayenne. Only one missing is the Macan but I have had enough time in one as a curtesy car from Porsche and my dealers to have a good comparison.

    There is no question about an SUV/CUV having better cargo and passenger room and easy of entry and ease of loading over sedan and wagons. And yes, the higher seating portion gives a better vantage point of the roads ahead. Most wives and girlfriends feel 'safer' inside one too. 

    While sedans are supposed to handle better, there are exceptions, Cayenne can out handle most sedans, and the Panamera/Taycans can out handle just about any SUV/CUV also.

    The FF/Lusso was an interesting one. Not quite sedan, not quite sports car. Great GT car that can eat up distances with ease. Also have very acceptable cargo room. I reckoned it can haul just about the same as the Taycan sedan. and Not much behind the Panamera. Shortcoming is harder to get to the back seat. While not the roomiest, it's actually ok for adults. Taycans offers slightly better room, it's an improvement but still way behind what Cayenne/Macan/Panamera can offers. 

    My buddy who is at the launch of the Purosangue just told me some thinks it's a blow up FF/Lusso. it's actually closer to a Taycan Cross Turismo XL. it's basically the height of the Mustang Mach E. On paper the Ferrari is 8 inches wider and 8 inches longer than the Mach E. 

    He likes it. He should be upgrading his Lusso to this thing.

    The FF/Lusso did that role before. But it has it's limitations like smaller cargo room and hard to get to back seats. The Purosangue solved the rear passenger issue and also expanded the cargo room.

Finally a Burmester system as well. Will be very expensive once fully specced.  Probably a Verde metallic for me for a change. Grigio Titanio, Bianco Italia, Rosso Portofino, Nero Purosangue at the reveal- all looked great.

    No information on either point I am afraid, but certainly a strong hint that non V12 variants will come.

    Yes, the individual 48V suspension system is super trick.

    the 12 is great, but Lusso better looking, they've produced the top soccer mama Mia rig, But RSQ8 better looking too.

    Fit and finish, interior and detail hides a sin.  Enough for me to see TRX and RSQ8 more useful for us. No longer a buyer.

    By Ferrari standard, yes. My Speciale went in more than the FFs. 

    Durable too. I literally drove the FF all 4 seasons. One time in winter during a snow storm I was stuck behind a gravel spraying truck doing 30km/hr. I am too impatient and passed it on the spray side. I can hear the gravels hitting the car but don't quite care. End result was a couple blemishes on the aluminum wheels but the paint was surprisingly undamaged, Even without clear flim on top.

    I believe the base price is around $400,000.

    Watched one of the walk-arounds (EVO). Looks incredible, fantastic glass to body ratio (not sure about how visibility will be but that is not the point). The actual Ferrari videos with it being driven on dirt roads are lovely, and it sounds fantastic. And the interior finish is on a different planet (at least it looks that way).

    But… 2,500 kgs (with fluids and an 80kg driver (did I get that right)) is heavy. And it is big. So it probably won’t end up getting driven properly and rather is practically better suited for turning up and parking outside the Mayfair Hotel or equivalent.
