    Re: [2022] Formula 1

Max is flying and winning with ease while Checco is a total disappointment! He started 2nd and finished 2nd with the same car as Max.

Lewis made the classic Max today and didn’t succeed mail

FA clearly still having issues with Lewis as his emotional outburst was (even emotionally understandable) not very nice AND I suppose that with any other driver he wouldn’t have fought with gloves off as he did in that situation knowing that his car isn’t pair to the (still very poor performing) Mercedes.

Esteban Ocon did great today, it’s a pity that he needed to start at the end of the field.

Ferrari just messed up again, as usual jut to make sure that CL isn’t a fair WC contender anymore.

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

Lewis was over half a car's length ahead of Fernando. If LH had been any other driver, FA would have backed out. If Fernando had been any other driver, they would have backed out.

FFS, even when LH himself is admiting complete fault in the matter, you still have the need to spin it against Alonso and away from Hamilton to quench your congnitive dissonance  1325269639981rolleyes.gif

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

    @CoS

Lewis admitted his fault, same as I do recon his mistake in this situation, BUT it’s well known how much FA dislikes Lewis and I just wanted to point on that.

So maybe Fernando wouldn’t have made the same move on Max, what do you think?

BTW, thanks for your kind words kiss

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

Lewee said "apologies to team", not Alonso and:

    Hamilton comment on Twitter:
"Alonso only knows how to race in the back because he can't get to the front "

Alonso gave him maximum room, and Lewee cut him off.

Again no more words needed here, Lewee was just pushing for a good result, just a racing incident made ugly.

And the real issue at the start:  Max up to 9th on Lap 1!!!!!

Why do you have the need to point that out (as if you actually know what Alonso thinks btw) in this situation? Hamilton closed the door on another driver by mistake, shít happens, Hamilton is big enough to admit his fault, no big deal, it's racing. it was a mistake with no bad intentions at all. Sure it pissed off Alonso right in the heated moment, wouldn't you be after all the effort to be there with the Alpine? but after the race I guarantee he would forget about it, like everyone else.

Do yourself a favor and ask yourself why instead you have the need to criticize Alonso in this? and even go as far to insinuate he caused it by not being conservative enough with Hamilton and speculate that he wouldn't with another driver?

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

    @CoS
After the race FA should have apologized to Lewis, even though I can understand high emotions in that moment of the incident.

Lewis took 100% the blame for the accident, that was a race incident

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

Wow, I just watched the first 12 laps again - magnificent driving by many, especially adult Max, and deliciously fraught - quite a few naughty moves by many...... Checo didnt do Max any favours and likely cost him 5-6 secs, plus additional tyre wear.  Easy to understand though!  Lord, just fabulous racing.  Too bad skySports on ly showed a few of Max's passes, but Carlos catching air was just the TITZ!

Now you sounds like Max fans, it's never their driver's fault Smiley

It doesn't matter that 'half a car length', he is on a much tighter line into the next corner and he has to back off well ahead of Alonso and in turn giving back all that.

Alonso doesn't need to back out, there was no reason there to back out. If he had enough room, he could stay side by side until the exit of 9 and he gets inside line again.

I did exactly that move before racing Cup cars. inside-outside-inside then another inside into Bruxelles. Banged some fenders in the process but Cup cars are a lot more durable than open wheel cars.

So Hamilton crashes into Alonso, and in your head it's Alonso that needs to apologize after the race? you are unreal  Smiley SmileySmiley

BTW, Hamilton admitted his obvious mistake but did not apologize for it.

Lewis took 100% the blame for the accident, that was a race incident

After the race Alonso agreed with the stewards to not penalize Hamilton and said: “It was a first lap incident” “These things happen. In that corner, especially, there are a lot of things that are going on".

When I saw it live I figured it's gonna be a racing incident during the first lap. Nothing should come out of it.

Indeed, I can understand Alonso's frustration in the heat of the moment and all the adrenaline, but after the race he then saw it for what it is too, a first lap racing incident, just bad luck, can't blame Hamilton.

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

It is what it is. I feel bad for both. I got Alonso pecked for a podium after all.

Seriously though, I think Liberty Media should do a "Keeping Up With the Ferraris" show. just simply broadcasting all the radio exchanges between the pit wall and the 2 drivers.

You missed his after race interview.

He said what he said in the heat of the moment. Alonso expanded that in the post race interview. Nothing wrong there. he said whatever he said in real time to the engineer and all get broadcasted, it is what it is.

Press just wanted to be press and write sensational headlines

That's not my point, of course he shouldn't apologize for the crash, that was 100% Hamilton's fault, but notice that after Hamilton crashing into Alonso your first thought is that Alonso should apologize for his remarks in the heat of the moment instead, and you make no mention of Hamilton apologizing to Alonso for CRASHING into him in the first place? .... crashing into someone is no big deal apparently (if it's Hamilton of course) but some remarks over the radio for being hit after a great start, now THAT he should apologize for immediately... I really don't get this level of blind fanatism in F1 with some of Ham and Max followers.

I found the comment from Alonso very appropriate over Ham. I will be this week-end in the Paddock - cannot wait to see the crowd there. kiss

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

According to Midweek Motorsport, things are not all blue skies with Porsche going into F1. Apparently there's a power struggle with RB.

Not a good start, and explains the lack of official announcement thus far.
