Enjoy your new ride and don't care about the picture quality, to those pics look like straight out of the dealer's brochure!

    Always safe driving!

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

Carlos, are you still planning to get those black rim things for the headlights?

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

    Congrats Carlos

Nice pics.... Don't say they are not good. It's not easy to take any pic when you are making first use.... you'd be a little nervous ...

Tell us about your car... I love your car.....
    aaaaaaaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhhh

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

Carlos may i suggest you write us everyday a small report???

    Day 1, day 2, day 3.......like a diary???

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

Thanks a lot guys you are very kind
I'll be heading today for the same mountain road I was with the bike a couple of weeks ago and will work on the report, and brake the tires and brakes in.

Interestingly in my manual it doesn't mention any 4000RPM limit during break in, its just says to avoid high rpm's especially when engine is cold

cartouge, havent tried the mp3 compatibility yet, but I will today.

Danny G, I'm going to wait till a while until other people get them and see their impressions, I don't want any posible wind noises at high speed, etc.

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

Happy for you, ombre! Superbe looking car! I would also like to read everything regarding the -20mm..
    Enjoy your rides

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

Another wicked pic Carlos , the -20mm makes the rear look even fatter and the PSE clashes brilliantly with the paintwork..

    Awesome..

    throt

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

congrats from the belgian p-admirers too...
    Black is beautiful

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

Congratulations! What an awesome place to be tooling around in a 997S.

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

what i dont like in the PSE is that the inner exhausts are not alligned with the outer but instead the beggin from the higher point of the outter ones.it would be better to be alligned in the center (in terms of height) with the outer ones.

Or better to beggin at the BOTTOM of the outer exhausts!
like if you turned the whole exhaust system upside down...

Dunno but in this way it looks like they are crying....

But Carlos, tell us your opinion for the looks of the PSE, now that you have it live

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

Carlos, are you kidding? these are great pics, I actually enjoy the different light and atmosphere.
Congratulations mate, I'm really pleased for you. Your spec, including colour is as mine + the bits I couldn't order at the time....Want to swop?
    ENJOY

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

    Thanks a lot guys

Dilinger, once I saw it live it made sense, at least to me. The way the two diff diameter tips are placed blands and excentuates the shape of the rear when looked at from behind. I don't know how to explain it with words but one of the best looking aspects of the rear of the 997 is the stance it has from behind following a sort of arch shape, like a raimbow shape. The exhaust tips add to that shape by creating one on the underside of the car. I really wish I could explain better, or maybe its just me, maybe to some one else it doesn't give that appearance.

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

Quick question for you Carlos: are you glad you got the PSE, in the short time you've driven the car so far?

    Yes, 100%.
Even if the 45-85km/h cutoff couldn't be removed I would still get it, it sounds that great. Maybe if I hadn't heard it I would not want it so much, but once you hear it and you have that new reference, you have to have it. Today was a delight in the mountain twisties

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

Thanks Carlos... Does the cutoff bother you and/or sound wierd? Also, do you find that you want to enable PSE on all the time or do you like normal mode also.

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

Its not a sudden inmediate cut-off, its a bit gradual so its not that apparent, but you notice that the exhaust goes quieter under acceleration when you are wanting to hear the enginge growl, or sometimes you pick up the throttle somewhat hard and there is no growl until the speed climbs further.

I wouldn't mind havin't it on all the time, but in the city it calls some attention which I don't like, so if the switch is there I may disable it sometimes, but if there is no switch its not that big deal, but its handy to have.
Inside the cabin the sound is not bothersome at all like other exhausts that sort of resonnate or are just plain loud with no nice sound, they get tiresome, but the PSE always sounds nice and when it has to sound, not so much at constat throttle driving.

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

The cutoff bothered me at the beginning. But there will be a solution sooner or later. They opened up my PSE for any speed and will add an additional PSE button later (I have Chrono Sport). It's so much fun with the PSE I have it on all the time. I couldn't imagine not having it. It's about half the fun.

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

Seven, have you found out how they opened the PSE so as not to cut-off at 50-80kmh? thanks.

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

Not yet, sorry. They told me it's a temporary solution. I didn't hear anything yet about the 'final' solution with an additional PSE on/off button. At the moment it's okay for me I like the PSE so much. I will ask next week and will keep you up-to-date.

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

    Thanks Seven, keep us posted

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

    congrats Carlos, looks great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i would love if you could elaborate on the differences vs gt3 when u review it! enjoy the break in, dont be too cruel...

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

Grats Carlos. Great combination, the lower suspension with a black 997. If you lived in London I could share my car wash vouchers with you The guys at the "soft" car wash service station don't even ask anymore what I want. They just grin and bill the usual wash program.

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

fabulous car fabulous pics wow. looking real good Carlos. You are quite the photographer - i like the angled shots you've take they really accentuate the lines on the car!!

    Bravo!!

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

Congrats Carlos. I wish you many happy times with her.

    Re: 997S First contact -pics

    Thanks guys

The review of the impressions is almost done, will post it today
