It used to be common practice to change the oil on a high performance car/motorcycle after the breakin period (~1500km). I always felt that this was a prudent procedure to rid the engine of breakin debris. However, Porsche does no require this or even mention it. The dealer mantra is once a year or 20,000km.

My oldman instinct tells me to do it, as it can only be good for the life of the engine. But the dealer says I am wasting my money. What do other people do? Is there any justification to do the classical breakin oil change?
