The 996 has PSM as an option while the 997 can optioned with PASM. From what I have read, the ROW 997S can be had with a sport suspension option that is unavailable in the US. Where are you located. The standard Porsche suspension is very good so the changes you make will depend on your intended use and budget. I use my 996 as a daily driver and I have had allot fun on numerous track days. I chose Bilstein PSS9's as they have a great reputation and Bilstein has been building shocks for Porsches for years. I'm very happy with the setup, but others may find it a bit to aggressive. The serious folks that I know have gone with Motons for track use. They are very stiff for daily use.
