True but still...the difference to 300+ kph was like huge...like more than 100-200 meters huge... I expected only a few car lengths. Not even sure how long the Carrera GT needs to 300 kph but I guess something around 30 seconds or so? Don't have a clue, never looked it up.
CGT has two problems, tall gearing just like rest of the P cars we see today and 0.39 drag coefficient (0.34 GT2 RS / 0.31 991 Turbo S)
As for the R8: The drag coefficient is 0.34 with adaptive rear spoiler retracted or 0.35 with it extended, and 0.36 with the fixed rear wing spoiler. (Audi brochure)
