I've had my 991.2 targa 4S since January and bought it from my dealer's physical stock as it was one of the last new targas they were expecting through their hands. I'd always wanted a targa ever since the first 991.1 model was launched but had never gone ahead and pressed the button on an order.

I really liked the car on offer to me - GT silver with black leather, sport design design package, LED front headlights etc but was not keen on the wheels it had been delivered on and was fairly ambivalent about the interior. My dealer offered to sell me whatever wheels I wanted at cost price so I had them order up a set of Sort Classic wheels in gloss black to give the car a retro nod to the impact bumper models of the 80's. That just left me with the interior which I ideally wanted to have the modern Houndstooth seat centres. I tried various routes to get originals from the factory but this proved extremely difficult and stupidly expensive so I decided to give up on the quest.

A few weeks ago the parts manager from my local dealer called to say that they had found a trimmer who was only 25 minutes away from me who had a roll of the OEM modern houndstooth and had just retrimmed a pair of bucket seats for them with superb results. I immediately contacted the trim shop and booked my car in with them. I dropped it over to them on Monday morning and they completed the job yesterday. I am delighted with the results and think this car will now be a keeper for me. I still can't understand why Porsche don't offer a Classic package option from the factory that bundles together wheels, cloth trim, bright finish window surrounds etc as I'm sure it would be a popular option especially in markets like the US.

Here are some before and after shots.
