4 sec difference in 0-300 is embarrassing. True that the RS wing is an anchor, but....

 

That active wing on the Macs makes a huge difference in straight line.  I would expect 992 may address this...

The GT2RS Cd is 0.35 and I have seen 720S quoted at 0.36 also they both top out at 211/212mph which indicates similar drag (yes I know lots of over excited fan boys said the GT2RS was limited and could do 220+ but that is BS)

How does the above fit in with the GT2RS wing creating extra drag (explaining the slower acceleration numbers) if it did surely it would be reflected in the Cd ?

I think the real  reason is to do with the 720S power curve compared to the GT2RS, check out the manufacturers full load diagrams, the 720S has over 700PS from 6500rpm to 8000rpm whereas the GT2RS has 612PS at 6000rpm  

Put another way the 720 just has a lot more area under the curve......
