BTW, The 100ms shift times matches the F1 in the 360, the F430 Scuderia does it in 60ms, which is close to the limit of the F1 transmission.

From what I have learn, the 7-speed gearbox is not as strong as the old AMG 5-speed, so in order for MB to retire the 5-speed completely and move on to the 7-speed, the torque converter has to be replaced with a clutch setup in order to survive the brutal output of the high end engines. The regular 63 engine is already straining the limits of the 7-speed.
