Temm: no problem

nberry: Yes, retractable hardtops, 1960 kgs for SL63 (incl. driver + luggage + fuel = Euro standard); 2200~kgs for SL65 (using same standard of measurement)

Crash: the SL65 will not out-accelerate the SLR at any speed under 170-180mph. The SL65 does have a highter top speed than the SLR 722 even, but as far as acceleration is concerned; SLR is still supreme.

As far as the shift time is concerned, 100 milliseconds is the time for the 599's gearbox; 150 milliseconds for the standard F430. But note, the actual gearshift in both of these instances only takes 40 ms. So, if the SL63 time of 100 ms is for the time between pressing paddles and re-engagement of the new gear; then it is impressive, but if it is just for the actual mechanical gear-change, then as compared to 40ms for Ferrari; the AMG's gearbox is slow.

Either way, Ferrari's F1 and AMG's MCT are both smoother than BMW's current SMG on M5/M6 - the new BMW MDK and DSG are of course, in a different league; but Ferrari has done very well with the F430 Scuderia.
