In this case they just risk to have a GT4 with better performance than the GT3... 

I don’t think the current 718 chassis with strut rear suspension is a good match for 500hp.  Maybe the next generation  Boxster/Cayman chassis will have a multi-link rear?

I don’t know , but surely GT4 will take advantage from central engine displacement . The rear multi link suspension in 991 is also required due the rear engine position , maybe Cayman simply does not need a more complex rear suspension, maybe 

Even the 385hp GT4 shows limitations from that suspension (including rapid tire wear)

 

Not on the ClubSport, which uses the rear multi link from the the GT4. The whole front clip however came from the GT3 Cup car.
